    Pros

Good pay for the most part I work on percentage some loads don't pay the best. load board access for easier self preplan will be better once they post price with load so u dont have to call in to get load price.the company works with you when there is a problem.the app can be hit or miss on working for your load details but it is getting better. Over all happy with being a independent contractor here.

    Cons

Because u have to call in to get load price you can miss out on a good load waiting for response mostly from night and weekend crew like I said app isn't always reliable . Some times u run into a area to deliver and there r only dcs and containers and as otr we can't take them or run loads from those divisions

    Pros

good company till they changed the pay then you don't get paid nearly enough for all the hand loading and unloading that is involved

    Cons

I deliveried a container to the shop to repair, found I had a flat tire pulled around the building to have it repaired, the boss and I got into it because I didn't call in to tell them I was getting a tire repaired and that caused me to loose my job

J.B. Hunt - Transportation Manager Position - Field Office

    Pros

The opportunity to work independently amongst your coworkers. The opportunity for bonuses and pay raises if the outside branch as a whole functions successfully. The opportunity to work for a Fortune 500 company with a solid financial statement and longevity in the marketplace. Outlook for this company for continued future growth looks positive. Individual field branch structure allows for the will of the Director to determine unexpected, 'right-now', time off if necessary. Personally, in my branch, I had a very flexible Director.

    Cons

Substandard appearance in knowledge of the 'brokerage' industry by executive management. Annual budgets are often overridden by executive management, thus causing unrealistic growth expectations for field branches. 24-hour on-call duty, which is expected to include any call from any of the 10, 20, 30, 40+ drivers per night, at any given time of the night, on a daily (including weekend) basis.

    No work life balance

    Pros

The salary is pretty good for someone right out of college looking for a good paying job. My upper management was amazing as well.

    Cons

The work life balance is the worst I’ve seen. Coming from another logistics company that was very flexible I was in shock. They will expect you to work 50 hour weeks so be prepared for long draining hours in the office!

    Pros

I have worked with JB Hunt for the past 2.5 years. From day 1, the company as a whole has cared about having a personal/work-life-balance. This is great for a Fortune 500 company. The pay is competitive for the industry and I have felt that I have been paid adequately for the work that I do. As a female, I have not experienced any of the typical issues found in a male-dominated industry. JB Hunt does a great job of treating and paying employees equally and I do not relate to the issues expressed by other women in large corporate companies. JB Hunt works to hire professionals in the industry and treats them as such all the way down to the driver. I think this is in part due to the management structure that allows more attention to each manager, supervisor and driver. JB Hunt is a company that I plan to put in plenty of time with and pursue a career within the company.

    Cons

The onboarding process for management in the field could use improvement - this is something that seems to be a continuous work in progress. The amount of systems used during the day for one job is excessive and there are often major flaws with the systems. JB Hunt do
