I have been working at J. Crew part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

the pay, the discount and the 60s list. it’s an okay environment not the best but not the worst.

    Cons

Very slow, dress code sucks especially if you don’t wear their clothes or style. Biased and surprisingly talks about of crap about their customers through the walkies

    Advice to Management

Extreme favoritism, constantly putting out contests but do not actually fall through with them.

    Pros

Okay pay for a pretty easy job

    Cons

One of the managers was difficult to talk to and practically judged me to my face when he grilled me on whether or not I drink (which I consider unprofessional), I said I don't drink much and finally said it's because I think it's unhealthy. He laughed in my face about how that's not true, so I really think he should do some research before he speaks. He also started being way nicer to me once realized we're the same race, and kept making comments about it.

    Advice to Management

Try being as professional and kind to the customers as you would want your sales associates to be

I worked at J. Crew part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There was a great camaraderie among the staff and a decent starting wage for a sales associate.

    Cons

Management never gives you the hours you are told you will receive. They placed me on the busiest shift due to my high sales, but refused to give me more than 8 hours. The managers talked badly about all the customers and were generally rude to the staff.

    Advice to Management

Don't lie just to acquire staff, keep them by treating them right.
