I have been working at J Hilburn full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

With 20+ years of Fortune 100 corporate sales experience J. Hilburn equals and exceeds the best training and support I have received. Superior products, customer service to external clients and stylists. Our leadership listens to our needs and suggestions to build a better business. I am proud to represent J. Hilburn

    Cons

As an independent stylist there is exceptional work life balance, but it is essential to stay plugged into corporate communications, team meetings, team building and client appointments.

    Advice to Management

Continue listening to the stylist in the street who are meeting and working clients daily. We hear the clients requests and pass them to you.

I have been working at J Hilburn for more than 8 years

    Pros

High commission rates for personal sales compared to industry standards, online training readily available, impeccable quality products.

    Cons

You have to have the right personality if you want to build a team and derive commission from team sales, otherwise you will only be able to rely on your own client sales. Home office seems to have high turnover and slow learning curve.

    Advice to Management

Could use more input from field reps to train Home Office personnel on actual challenges faced in the field. Listen to stylists about client requests for styles and colors of fabrics.

I have been working at J Hilburn

    Pros

The company offers some the highest sales commission rates out there; your schedule is flexible, you are your own boss; Products are first class and sourced at most exclusive sources in the world; great peer network and support

    Cons

One must be independent and self starting to succeed; the uniformity of experience is variable depending on team placement; Compensation comes from sales and team building, so can be dependent on the performance of others

    Advice to Management

It would be helpful to solidify policies and procedures around training so that it is more uniform and there is more support early on in one's career. The training as one moves up is good.
