I have been working at J.J. Taylor full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

First off let me start by saying I'm no stranger to throwing beverages. JJ Taylor is by far the best beer distributor in fort Myers. I've worked at Budweiser and if you're thinking about coming over just do it.

Health insurance is cheap, and isn't sub-prime insurance it's Aetna.

401k match within 60 days I believe. Sales can't simply drown accounts with beer, and returns are monitored by sales managers so no crazy 50 case swaps.

    Cons

None really to be honest I'll not pick just to feel this area up. Trailers could be a little better maybe have them inspected more frequently by the mechanics.

JJ is not like Budweiser, Pepsi, or coke there's a lot of product - think of it as more merchandising than heavy lifting if you come from Budweiser

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you're doing. HR should maybe review wages a little JJ pays about 5-10% less than other distributors in the area though it is a lot LESS work.

I have been working at J.J. Taylor full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Good Benefits
Stable Work as long as numbers are good
    Few Layoffs

    Cons

Middle Managers get the blame for most of the issues in the company. They are stuck in the middle between Directors who only care about numbers and trying to be there for their people. I have been a Sales Rep for over 15 years for this company and have had several managers. They all care, they just get frustrated at non-existent Directors who are only around when numbers stink. Middle Managers are the most unappreciated of all. That is why I have chosen to be a rep for over 15 years.

    Advice to Management

Look at your directors and figure out how they are really spending their time. We can't figure it out, maybe you can.

I have been working at J.J. Taylor full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You can work basically as many hours as you want. Plenty of opportunity for overtime and everything over 40 hours is time and a half.

    Cons

It's hard to get days off, seems like more often then not were undermanned and working our scheduled off days.

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing what your doing.

I worked at J.J. Taylor full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Free beer at events and Christmas

    Cons

HR is terrible. They would rather dress up and play games than be true HR professionals.

Management acts like they are presidents, VPs, and leaders of a huge company. When, in reality, this company is minuscule looking at the big picture.

Definite "good ole boy" system in place. If you're not "one of them" forget it!

    Advice to Management

Treat people fairly across the board.

    Cons

    Open the pocketbook

I have been working at J.J. Taylor (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Beer Tastings
    Decent Pay
    Monday-Friday(except, winter holidays)
    Good health benefits
    Car allowance
Beer Samples when breweries come in

    Cons

Need more resources to get the job done. 12 plus hour days. Inconsistent compensation. Bonus' are often difficult to execute. Very difficult to get a promotion.

    Advice to Management

Get some truly motivated Sales Managers! Sale Reps need less accounts per days so they can spend ample time to give impeccable service compared the Bud Distributors.
