    Negative Outlook

I have been working at J. M. Waller Associates full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Most employees and mid-level managers are very professional and great to work with. Many employees have stuck with the company despite upper managements overwhelming poor business judgement and management.

    Cons

The company is poorly managed and very top heavy. Recent firings have increased rumors about financial problems. Senior managers seem arrogant and show little regard for workers. There is one set of standards for the workers and one for upper manager and owners. Most employees feel used and no one is secure in their position. Pay is low and benefits are below industry standard. Everyone is just waiting for more layoffs. The company just feels unstable. It won't take much cause a mass exodus.

    Advice to Management

Read the company core values. Make more of an effort to truly engage employees. Most employes see what is happening so be honest about the company's future and take responsibility for the poor performance. Get rid of upper managers who drag the company down.

    Positive Outlook

    I worked at J. M. Waller Associates full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Very competitive pay, good benefits, 10 holidays off, and flexible work schedule. You are your own boss.

    Cons

Contract work so your contract may be pulled at any time. Very low or no bonus. No help from the main office as you are on your own (can be a good thing).. Getting expenses paid is a real pain.

    Advice to Management

A christmas bonus would be nice, more than $500.00. Also, pay expenses timely within a couple of weeks. Put employees ahead of profits.

    Pros

Good solid company. Comparable pay and benefits. Good and timely communication with channels open to senior management. Comfortable and relaxed work environment.

    Cons

Would like to see more work / project diversity but realize that weak economy has hurt the entire industry and federal government budgets, sequestration, furloughs etc are limiting the ability of companies to grow and diversify.

    Advice to Management

Continue to communicate with your employees.
