I worked at J.P. Morgan as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

A great place to learn skills and be with great leadership

    Cons

If you are stuck in a bad division you are screwed- random placement

    Advice to Management

Try to understand interns are there to learn, they don't know everything at first.

I have been working at J.P. Morgan full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Money, flexibility, access to information and resources.

    Cons

Hours you spend on work. Routineness of the work.

    Advice to Management

Nothing. This company is so big that I would have to be a strategic analyst to even make a dent in their suggestion box.

    Pros

Customer and Employee Centric. Hard work gets rewarded.

    Cons

Long Hours on Projects. Technology should be invested in sooner than how it traditionally occurs

I have been working at J.P. Morgan full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

They have good benefits and retirement. Very hands off management and there is a decent training program.

    Cons

The management plays favorites for the most part. Also there is not a lot of growth by staying in the role

    Advice to Management

Understand the content. So much of management does not really know the basics of the job

I have been working at J.P. Morgan full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Rewards for extra work, overtime pay, interesting work, incredible benefits

    Cons

Constant change, immature colleagues, inappropriate daily work wear

    Advice to Management

If an employee comes in wearing something inappropriate, the individual should be spoken to and dealt with accordingly. There is a reason the dress code exists and it would make the environment have a much more professional feel.

I worked at J.P. Morgan as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Very engaging program where firm & management invest highly into intern program. Given semi-valuable projects and fair expectations. Above-average pay and large amount of resources available to all interns.

    Cons

The bureaucracy of an international financial institution seems to inhibit innovation/progression at times. Wallstreet culture seems to clash with Tech culture at times.

    Advice to Management

Have all developer programs available to interns from the start date to avoid long install times. Learn how to appeal to millennial tech culture more authentically.

I worked at J.P. Morgan full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Chase hires on at very competitive salaries. Benefits are incredible as well as the vacation/sick days/personal days. Great work environment.

    Cons

Training is thorough, but they tend to focus on some aspects of the job that aren't as important as others. Should have a more focused training staff.

    Advice to Management

Have trainers that are focused on training, not on applying for another position within the company which causes them to be distracted and out of the training class frequently. Also, make sure team are aligned prior to new employees going to the floor and having several TL's over a short period of time,

I have been working at J.P. Morgan full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great for mobility, great compensation and benefits, diverse, friendly people. If you are smart and work hard you will get ahead.

    Cons

The size of the company means that some teams have poor management. Certain areas of the business have long working hours but that's what you would expect in finance.

    Advice to Management

Required in person management training would be good for those people who made great developers but poor managers.
