I worked at J.P. Morgan full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Support from internal associates was top notch. Could trust their suggestions and advise on client issues. Many good procedures in place to ensure accuracy.

    Cons

Position was a dumping ground on most client facing issues. Management didn't provide enough support to help with the work load. Very stressful job and it wasn't unusually to have team members crying at their desk.

    Advice to Management

Find additional resources to help with operational issues that need immediate attention so the service managers can focus on serving the client.

  3. "Good place learn and grow. Global company offers many career opportunties."

You get to work with some very bright people.

Enormously large company. Can have problems with bureaucracy. Highly regulated business.

I think management is doing a good job in a tough environment.

I have been working at J.P. Morgan full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

In the professional positions the company seems to be very flexible work hours and working from home. They have a generous vacation policy.

    Cons

Very bureaucratic. Sometimes seems like IT and Legal are deciding how the business will operate. While opportunities for new responsibilities abound, compensation for them is limited.

    Advice to Management

Do away with the closed door ranking of employees for bonuses and salary increases.

    Pros

The people that work in the trenchs are amongst the best in the industry. They continually work hard and are dedicated to satisfying clients and participants.

    Cons

Overlly matrixed organization. They currently believe in doing more with less and view outsourcing as the only option for achieving profitability. The sales team feels that they have to give product away in order to make quotas.
