I have been working at J.P. Morgan full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great company to work for. A lot of paid time off. 5% 401k match and pension. Branch managers are good. Great team environment. Annual extra 401k awards. Great incentive program. Well respected CEO

    Cons

Low base pay. Staffing is sometimes low

    Advice to Management

You can afford to increase base pay

I worked at J.P. Morgan full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Excellent team based approach makes it easier to provide top notch service for even the most complicated clients. The firm is large enough to get experience in many different areas.

    Cons

There is a lot of competition from previous employees. The firm needs to be more appreciative to employees that are dedicated to the firm.

    Advice to Management

The work environment and culture is in a transition phase and every day the outlook for the firm is getting better. Keep up the good work.

I have been working at J.P. Morgan full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great starting incentives to get you going. Book of business in place.

    Cons

Cut annual bonus, raised the bar on incentive payouts, archaic promotion process, it' s liking pulling teeth to get established clients to invest with you.

    Advice to Management

Put less pressure on sales, more on relationship building. Share the wealth, no need for the executives to make multiple millions and hard-working bankers in the trenches have to be on Medicaid and Food Stamps to supplement their income. Raise the banker base salary to $55,000 and pay out more on incentives, (you can afford it), then you would lower your banker turnover and burn-out rate. If a banker doesn't perform then you cut them, but for the median bankers that consistently produce, they should be able to earn six figure salaries.

I have been working at J.P. Morgan full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Unbelievable resources at this firm. If you want to learn/study anything with investments, markets, etc, the information is available. Extremely intelligent people to work with

    Cons

Being away from the "mothership" (i.e. NYC) limits job growth and opportunity. Can be frustrating to deal with bureaucratic red tape because of how large the firm is.

I have been working at J.P. Morgan full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Benefits, earnings potential, tuition reimbursement, hours. The ability to work with partners from various lines of business to help the client are a plus.

    Cons

It's hard to list any cons, because management has really done a great job turning the culture around. It used to be all about sales, and now it's about providing a great customer experience. The fact that you are rewarded for providing great customer service is wonderful.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the great work.

I have been working at J.P. Morgan full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Try to learn as much as you can from the trainings when you first start.

    Cons

Welcome to the glass ceiling that's called chase, the company have gotten rid of so many positions that there is now little to no room for growth. Which each new change the company adds on to your already long worthless title, while getting paid the same. You then become over worked and severely under paid

    Advice to Management

    Cons

The company is very strict and company policy, very corporate. Sometimes you feel like you are just a number.
