I have been working at J.P. Morgan full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good culture, bonuses may make up for the relatively low base rates, good internal mobility program, senior management are very involved in development and growth opportunities for mid-junior/senior partners.

    Cons

Relatively low pay rise, long hours at times, can get quite bureaucratic at times with senior managers overly focused on pushing their own agenda rather than listening to junior staff concern.

I worked at J.P. Morgan (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Overall great quality of people. Roles are well supported and compensation is good overall. The business has a great name which makes it easy to establish new profit centres.

    Cons

Many teams are top-heavy. Turnover tends to happen in swathes as opposed to rooting out underperformers individually. Silos exist and politics makes doing business harder, sometimes leaving money on the table.

very healthy office culture as compare to other investment banks(In my opinion).
    work life balance.

    Cons

There seems to be little less transparency between senior management and staff level employees.

I have been working at J.P. Morgan full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Diversity within the company is great
Good community spirit, lots of charity works within the area.
    Good benefits

    Cons

    Lack of transparency
Remuneration is not very even top down.
Very corporate in that there is loads of political agendas

    Advice to Management

Be transparent to the staff esp across all levels of the business not just from Jamie.

I worked at J.P. Morgan full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Diverse group of employees from all backgrounds, lots of women in senior positions, global company, inspiring CEO, interesting projects and clients

    Cons

Salary not transparent. As a woman I had males reporting to me who earned significantly less than me (despite them being in a more junior position). No published salary bands for job roles/levels. Flexible working not something proactively practiced and not modelled by leaders

    Advice to Management

Be more transparent regarding salary and ensure fair pay across the genders. Embrace flexible working, including part-time arrangements

I worked at J.P. Morgan full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Large global organisation who champions internal job opportunities over external people coming in. Plenty of opportunities to work for the company in different locations. Had some fantastic big celebrity speakers which I was there. Whole office has been completely refurbished since I left so it's a nice working environment now so I've been told.

    Cons

Ridiculously over worked for the pay. Worked very, very long hours as management did nothing to increase headcount quickly enough to deal with fluctuations in volume. I changed Manager over 10 times whilst I was there which did nothing for my personal development so I had to establish a relationship with a new manager each time a performance review was done.

    Advice to Management

Open your eyes to the pressure you are putting your staff under.
