I worked at J-W Energy Company full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good payscale, good working environment, get to enjoy plenty of sunshine and the pleasure of working in the great and majestic outdoors

    Cons

Hard to fit in due to the good olé boy environment firmly in place. The senor mechanic is a benefit to the company due to his level of knowledge but his lack of people skills make him intolerable to communicate with.

    Advice to Management

Initiate a code of conduct program that is mandatory for all employees and all levels of management to attend and adhere to. The managers lack the necessary skills to pool all of the resources made available by the different skill levels of their employees, making the overall process of accomplishment for a common goal unattainable.

    I worked at J-W Energy Company full-time

    Pros

Good pay as long as they like you or if they like your manager. I was told that once that if certain people didn't like you, you'd be gone in six months.

    Cons

There is a a lot of infighting amongst the managers. This was a family company but now they have "professional" management. But I can't decide whose throat the "professional" managers are trying to slit the workers or the family.

    Advice to Management

This has been going on too long; I doubt the company can be saved. I'm glad that most of the people I knew got out in one piece.

I worked at J-W Energy Company full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Casual and family - like atmosphere. Leader in the industry. If any company restructuring, and your title is downgraded they do not decrease your pay.

    Cons

Lack of communication from management. Other business units performance can affect bonuses. Lacks training opportunities. Some additional available benefits are hidden or not well communicated.

    Advice to Management

Talk to your people about the good, bad, and ugly. Praise the positive contributions of each individual. Be a leader not a manager. Mentor and teach subordinates.

    I worked at J-W Energy Company full-time

    Pros

It is a great place to work (facilities and coworkers). Great place to learn about the industry. You wear many hats, which will develop you for the future.

    Cons

No direction from the Middle Management and the Top Management (lack of leadership). Management takes to long to make decisions. Pay is subpar for the industry for employees, unless you are in upper management.

    Advice to Management

Find a direction and do it! More communication with employees on direction. Need more top down communications.
