I have been working at JBT FoodTech full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Lots of parking. 401k.

    Cons

Employed promotes no minorities or women or in management jobs. Work is too much for all jobs . You must be available even mobile and emails 24/7 even here in shop. They send you out of town or country for months. Managers very strict and mean. They do not allow for family (school, work hours, sickness) or health or life. Sales guy screams and throws things at all the time. HR does not do anything. Many many meetings to blame not to fix problems. Lots of people get fired here. No air conditioning for shop. Floridas hot! Place is stressful, man. Not worth it.

    Advice to Management

    Respect people

I have been working at JBT FoodTech full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Growing company long history over 100 years (spun off from FMC) great people to work with. Global company so depending on your role you may have the opportunity for some international travel. The company is really improving operations by adopting lean practices.

    Cons

Company is growing fast so that comes with some challenges.

    Advice to Management

I have seen some employees with negative attitudes this is mostly because they are having a hard time with changes and sometimes it is hard to get the regular work done and keep moving forward with RCI project at the same time.

    Pros

Benefits are decent. Large company with a small company feel.

    Cons

Pay is not competitive for the area. Little opportunity for advancement in some regional offices. Fast growing with little growth with in the infrastructure; very top heavy.

    Pros

Great product lines to work on. A truly talented group of Engineers to work with. They are very well respected in the industry.

    Cons

Living on the east side of Seattle is very expensive for a working engineer. Not thhis companies fault, they were there before Microsoft.

    Advice to Management

Keep the trips to the Black Raven part of the culture.

I have been working at JBT FoodTech (More than a year)

    Pros

The work is usually interesting and it can be a fun place to work sometimes. Pay and benefits are pretty good too.

    Cons

The upper management types are super cliquey which gets super annoying real quck. Also a lot of the software systems they use are really outdated and/or generally unpleasant to use. All things considered though its a better place to work than most companies of its size from what I hear.

    Advice to Management

Stop acting like you're better than everyone else.

    Pros

When I started , the company did many things for their associates, as the company changed names from FMC to JBT the management changed and so did all the perks, The benefits were good but were getting more expensive as I was leaving

    Cons

Too many hours required, no life work balance and no concern from direct supervision or upper mngmnt.

    Advice to Management

Your associates are what drive your opportunities, don't abuse them and listen to their concerns.
