I have been working at JCP Portraits part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Easy to learn and easy to get a job there

    Cons

Will work you to death for peanuts. Pays minimum wage but if they could go lower they would.

    Advice to Management

If you stopped treating people like they were disposable then maybe they’d actually commit to staying longer than a month.

I worked at JCP Portraits part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Cool job, allows you to learn a lot/practice a lot of skills

    Cons

Super unorganized scheduling. You're on call for a lot of the time so you basically have to have no life while you work there. A lot of the times you're working by yourself so you have to be ready/capable of handling the pressure on days when it feels like you're swamped. Having to create packages and sell to customers while you're next appointment is already in and waiting is very stressful.

    Advice to Management

Allow for more than 15 minutes in between sessions. Often times, being the only one on duty and having to sell to customers when you're next customer is already in and waiting is stressful and doesnt allow for you to provide the best session you can to a customer when you feel like you have to rush.

I worked at JCP Portraits part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Not one good thing to say.

    Cons

Not this location but i worked at the one in El Cajon, and it’s horrible. They send you the schedule at 10 or 11 pm the night before although another schedule has been made. You don’t get paid what they tell you. I made 10 dollars an hour when I was supposed to get 11.50. It’s just unprofessional. I would not recommend working with this company.

I worked at JCP Portraits full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Made my own schedule, had a great team and great benefits

    Cons

Long holiday hours, upper management offers no added training, upper management seeks out lower management to blame, they say there is management flaws then they move you to another studio without help working to help improve the flaws.

    Advice to Management

Stop micro managing studio managers, start improving manager skills with skill building training vs allowing them to suffer and slowly be defeated and over worked
