    Pros

Got to meet a lot of people and got a lot of time behind the camera. Good experience.

    Cons

Periods of time with nothing to do. And the exact opposite during busy seasons like christmas when you are pretty much always running behind

I worked at JCP Portraits part-time

    Pros

It's an entry-level position that allows you to be creative.

    Cons

You are a greeter/phone operator, photographer, and a sales associate all at once and they only schedule one person per shift. You have unrealistic quotas to make every day and you will be fired for not reaching them more than 3 time regardless of how long you have worked there. Corporate is over bearing and won't give management the ability to manage. In a year's time I had 4 store managers. And don't expect a raise at the end of the year, cause you won't get one.

    Advice to Management

If you are offered a job at Lifetouch Portrait Studio, RUN.

I have been working at JCP Portraits part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Hours of operation are good for retail

    Cons

Unrealistic expectations of staff. They schedule you by yourself unless they have to because of appointments. Always behind because you’re only supposed to have 15 minutes in the camera room but that almost never happens unless it’s an adult you’re photographing. Taking pictures of children walking to about 3 are the worst. They run around and it’s hard to get their attention then the parents get mad because you can’t control their child or get them to smile/stay still. Then they write awful surveys about how it’s your fault their pictures didn’t turn out Pinterest perfect. When you are scheduled by yourself you have 45 minutes for each appointment which is not enough time. You get in trouble for not selling $200 packages because people come in wanting to use the $3.99 coupon that is always available. You aren’t the receptionist/phone call taker/photographer/sales associate at the same time. You are expected to answer the phone no matter what. Get graded on EVERYTHING from your photos to how well you’re selling. You’re also expected to try to get people from the store to come and take pictures.

    Advice to Management

You can’t force people to buy packages and you can’t force them to stop shopping and come and take pictures.

    Advice to Management

Never had a bad experience with management
