I worked at JDA Software full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The reason I stayed 16 years here was the teams I worked with. The people on the ground and in the trenches of keeping the customers happy, and the immediate level of management.

    Cons

The current executives seem only to be driven by numbers. The customers needs seem to take a back seat.

I worked at JDA Software full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Lots of employees with long tenure
    Nice new office
    good pay and benefits

    Cons

No loyalty to even long term employees. They will lay you off if it makes the books look good. My direct manager had no idea I was being laid off until an hour before. Product development is always behind or working out bugs. Lots of unhappy customers that I dealt with personally.

    Advice to Management

When you do layoffs, please get input from the department heads directly and not just some spreadsheet. We had lots of other fat that could of been trimmed but the people that actually run the department have no say.

I worked at JDA Software full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Good pay, bonus & vacation structures.
Good people with strong technical and product knowledge

    Cons

-Continuous off-shoring of development positions to India, with loss of experience and talent
-Lack of customer focus in Product Development
-Incoherent and constantly changing mobile strategy
-Responsibilities siloed in Product Development, Product Management & Services
-Extreme difficulties in communications and coordinating work between US and India.

    Advice to Management

Either move all product development to India or start re-hiring in the US. The continuous loss of 30 to 50 people every year has completely sapped morale and crippled on-shore development.

I worked at JDA Software full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great place to start your SCM Career and become a specialist . If you join the right solution suite you could become a highly qualified specialist in no time .

    Cons

Need to navigate through the plethora of converged applications acquired during several acquisitions with little to no help ( structured training) offered . You really need to grow under a mentor ( which is not provided ) and opportunities to jump across solution suites are slim to none.

    Advice to Management

Focus on people - nurture / grow their talent so that when they leave they become Chief Supply Chain officers / Senior Leaders at the Fortune 500 companies where you sell the software .
