I worked at JDA Software as a contractor (More than a year)

    Pros

    The work can be challenging.

    Cons

Management is bad. They promote the least inexperienced people. The reason for promoting such people is because they are 'buddies' with Management. Hard work is only appreciated if you are part of the 'in' group.

People in other departments walk around like zombies....so I know it is not just in the department where I worked.

    Advice to Management

Get a clue! Appreciate your experienced employees more. By letting all off your experienced workers walk away....you are losing very valuable assets.

I worked at JDA Software full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Lots of employees with long tenure
    Nice new office
    good pay and benefits

    Cons

No loyalty to even long term employees. They will lay you off if it makes the books look good. My direct manager had no idea I was being laid off until an hour before. Product development is always behind or working out bugs. Lots of unhappy customers that I dealt with personally.

    Advice to Management

When you do layoffs, please get input from the department heads directly and not just some spreadsheet. We had lots of other fat that could of been trimmed but the people that actually run the department have no say.

I have been working at JDA Software full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Long time employee seeing change and growth. The company was very rigid under the former CEO and now it has lightened up. The Scottsdale associates see how the company is trying to change their culture, but I feel they have a long way to go. The building can be changed and look pretty, but it is the people inside that make it worth coming in each day. JDA has good people, just not management.

    Cons

The company is always looking for headcount reduction and everyone feels on the chopping block. Other associates feel they are on the chopping block and so they do not share knowledge and collaborate that well. The leadership says they want to groom people and help them advance in their careers, but that fees like just lies.

    Advice to Management

Follow through and help associates learn and grow. Offer more that 100 skillport license for the 5,000 global associates. Offer training that manager are encouraged to send their associates to rather. You seem to just lie and have little regard for the humans that work for you. Have some team building and collaboration events once and a while.
Stop creating so many layers of titles. It seems everyone is a VP or Director of something and they are all entitled and throw the title around.

I worked at JDA Software full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Team members in the US were professional, collaborative, and worked well together.
The technical people workig on products in the US are willing and able to think out of the box.
Innovation is welcomed, as long as it doesn't cost anything.

    Cons

Once JDA started buying other companies, there has been little product direction, marketing strategy, or direction. There is no focus on the right product to the right market.
They have yet to have a successful release of a product that uses new technology and innovative functionality. All that they sell is built on old products, most of which were aquired to fill in the gaps.
The New Capital Management leadership has a far less favorable attitude towards associates that the original JDA management team.

    Advice to Management

Be JDA when it comes to your people.
Be Innovative, in small steps and not gigantic products that nobody can afford or want to buy.
If you give the customer quality products that make them competitive, the profits will tak care of themselves.

    Pros

It's used to be a very good place to work but not now , the direction is not clear, management don't do transparent but the company have legacy of firing people once they done with their work.

    Cons

All IT management are yes boss guys not came from real leadership , it's kind of running there own family business and they don't treat people well..for some reason this company deep dive in micromanagement too much of it cause lot of issue.. And no body try to change it till now..
This company missing lot of professionalism, not a trust wroth place where you can make happy days in your job..

    Advice to Management

Pls be transparent and do care for people who give there best and spend years to bring the value to the company.. Talk to them and when ever any firing happen pls go to details and try to find why they are Doing it , is it that you guy don't have proper planning , once you fire the people ask them why again they hire the people in just no time.. I respect this company a lot but you need to improve treating the people well
