I have been working at JLG Industries full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Decent Compensation, Clean Work Environment, 401K Match

    Cons

Corporate takes care of Corporate, If you are not a part of the McConnellsburg facility then you have zero job security. Good company if Oshkosh wasn't making poor choices for JLG. Truth hidden most often.

    Advice to Management

Start remembering you most valuable asset, the one tool that you can't operate without. Your People. They are not expendable. Your profit margin is really good. Absorb profits back into your team during the slow times and you will have a stronger team which will work harder and make you more money.

    Pros

Good work, Not that hard, Good pay. The day is fairly easy depending who you work under.

    Cons

They do NOT follow job description. You may be a electrical but end up working as a full Systems engineer integrating software, hydraulics, electronics and everything else they can think of.

    Advice to Management

Way to many chiefs, and not enough Indians. There were way too many high level promotions rather than give the low level people who do the hard work the promotion.

I have been working at JLG Industries full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There are SOME genuinely good who work there.

    Cons

Unfortunately, there are not enough. Most of Sr management are there because they are buddies with someone, and not because of talent. There are some Sr. level managers who somehow got their positions without acquiring at least a four year degree. How is that possible? Management make their evaluations solely on personal opinion and not on skill, or potential. If anyone within the management circle of friends come under criticism, they are quick to circle the wagons, and find ways to remove those who criticize instead of finding the root cause. They are very much against "outsiders" coming in and making an impact.
There is absolutely no opportunities to grow within the company. If you show an inkling of talent or desire to improve your performance they will make sure to keep you where you are.
I've seen some really good people leave, or get fired because management did not like them for personal reasons.
For the amount of work that needs to be done, and being located out in the middle of nowhere, the company does not provide competitive compensation. The friends I've seen leave for other jobs report back how much happier they are by leaving the company.

    Advice to Management

    Stop thinking only about yourselves.

    Pros

Very safe, clean, and opportunity to grow with the company. Appreciation lunches and safety trainings. They also actually resolve safety concerns and strive to improve working conditions.

Management is disorganized. Products purposely assembled incorrectly to cut corners. Favoritism and unprofessional management/hr. Mistreat contract employees. Brought in as temp to hire but there is no guarantee to ever be hired.

    Advice to Management

Learn to communicate with vendors. A hault in production due to running out of parts. Be more proffessional. Quit worrying about stupid things and deal with problem employees.
