    Pros

Home time is decent, benefits are great, pay is average, most co workers are good people.

    Cons

Very old equipment 1990's leaves you broke down a lot fighting for breakdown pay. Management treats you like crap. Any damage/dents/scratches to vehicals goes on your DAC as an ACCIDENT

I worked at Jack Cooper Transport full-time

    Pros

After 30+ years working for this company I have to say it was a solid run, family owned company for most of my tenure as a manager. Good people dedicated to long term viability and excellent customer relationships.

    Cons

Current owners since 2009 unfortunately did not continue what I considered to be the best practices of the original family company, Many of the changes that were made, including adding regional operations managers were exactly what was needed but the lip service given to making it a long term viable company somehow was overshadowed by the push for short term profitability to appease the bond holders and taking the company public.

    Advice to Management

Stay focused on where the real heart (and income stream!) of the company resides, at the terminals. Drivers, mechanics, dispatchers, terminal management, these are the nuts and bolts of this business, not added layers of bean counters and upper management.
