    Pros

    They take care of their employees. Lots of benefits and fair compensation. Love my team and the people I work with.

    Cons

    I know several people that were stuck at intern level for a while (up to 3 years) until they could afford to hire them on as full time developers. One of these employee's promotion kept getting pushed back by several months before he was finally salaried and hired on as a junior dev.

    Pros

    Excellent co-workers. Awesome atmosphere. (Usually) flexible remote policy. There's a general feeling, at least within my department, of genuinely wanting to help people.

    Cons

    Difficult to work cross-department. Low compensation. Cling a little tightly to old technology. Some of the managers are a little draconian and difficult to work with. As with many jobs, image is everything.

    Advice to Management

    Many of the metrics pass through managers without real oversight, letting a direct manager entirely control how you're perceived within the company

    Pros

    Great benefits, very good work-life balance, decent enough advancement opportunities, and my managers (I've been through two) have been nothing short of awesome.

    Cons

    Low wages, generally disorganized (there no good way of locating a specific team for a certain need), has only until recently been significantly behind in industry-standard technological advancements.

    Advice to Management

    Paying your employees better will yield better products, more motivated employees, and ultimately, a happier company. Staying on top of changes to industry standards will also help in this, and will also help improve JHA's image as a technology company.

    Pros

    Embracing new tech like Azure / HTML 5, Managers have flexibility to really create a team culture... New Leadership training is going a long way to standardizing a path forward... Stable / big company - but some groups have that startup feel

    Cons

    Not all teams / groups are the same... change is hard for the larger groups within the org...

    Advice to Management

    Find the qualities of highly effective teams, and promote them... recognize the differences in need from team to team - software team doing blue ocean type project has different needs than a legacy team supporting 8 applications... vs a call center team...
