    Pros

There are no pros that I have seen, a decent benefits package maybe.

    Cons

No opportunities for career advancement within Jack Henry?

Your compensation compared with similar jobs is very low.

Your benefits package compared with similar employers is good but not even close to being the best.

Information and knowledge sharing within Jack Henry is terrible.

Communications from management about important issues and changes is terrible.

Terrible and demotivating feedback you receive about your job performance.

Recognition and praise you receive when you do a good job is next to nothing.

Leadership abilities of Senior management zero the worst i have ever seen.

Competence of Senior management is zero.

Management support in permitting time off when you think it's necessary is horrible.

Employer support in balancing between work life and personal life is terrible.

unFairness in how promotions are given and people are treated

The level of respect shown by management toward employees is not good.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of Houston management team, they are doing a terrible job.

    Pros

One week vacation time is nice but it also includes sick time.

    Cons

This is an old fashioned company with a tight budget. Everything is a problem from getting time off to going to training to getting a raise. Management does not like disagreement. Job security is not as good as it seems. The company is prone to financial industry regulations.

    Advice to Management

Presenting yoyr company's as having a great benefits package is not the only means to make them happy.

    Pros

    You get one month vacation.

    Cons

    Poor management skills.
Poor career and growth opportunity if you work in any of the regional offices instead if the headquarters in Monett.

    Advice to Management

Benefits are not the only way to retain people.

I have been working at Jack Henry & Associates full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Casual atmosphere. People are mostly nice to work with and are knowledgeable.

    Cons

Lack of current documents ("How to"). Department tends to staff their units very lean in that in units where there's 7/24 support, there's only one person on that shift and when he/she's on vacation, the people on the other shifts must cover, creating a big disruption. No formal in-house training is available.

    Advice to Management

Unfortunately, management is the problem. Most of the managers came from other credit unions and really have no computer/systems background. They don't know how to lead let alone build a working unit/team.

I worked at Jack Henry & Associates full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Some folks have been there forever at other locations. Always heard good things, may be a great company out side of Kansas.

    Cons

Disorganized, work long hours and it's expected on a regular basis. Lots of people leaving in multiple groups in Kansas. Some managers shouldn't be there in management. Manager ruled by intimidation.

    Advice to Management

Get your group managers under control, they are a liability to you from a legal stand point.

    Pros

Free parking. Nothing else besides that. (I could say paycheck but the high blood pressure you'll be dealing with daily cancels that out.)

    Cons

There is a huge difference between under qualified and NOT qualified. This place should be used as a case study of why a college degree is important. What a freakin disaster. From the top down a true testament of how bad the IT world is getting. Stay far away - you'll thank me......

    Advice to Management

    Utterly disgraceful.

I worked at Jack Henry & Associates full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I cannot say anything positive about working in software development at Symitar. Sales and operations staff probably have a much different experience. The managers on that side of the house appear to treat their people better.

    Cons

Salaried staff in the department were expected to work crazy hours for sub-market pay. Developers and business analysts, however, were paid hourly and thus compensated for overtime. Management's solution to every problem is to get rid of someone. There were bitter feuds between managers (and I do not mean disagreements) and turf protection was rampant.

    Advice to Management

If a manager doesn't get along with any of the other managers and is disliked by everyone on his or her staff, maybe that person is the problem.

I have been working at Jack Henry & Associates full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good place to clock 6 months when you're starting out. They will let you sit and play YouTube videos all day. Management is top heavy with folks that just don't care or newly minted MBA that passed all the true false questions in class and are good at emails.

    Cons

The base systems where written 30 years ago and as such are grumpy to work with. They spend Zero dollars on personnel and training. Management is great on the golf course but that's about it. Nice people just not suited to the positions that they have been peter principled.

I've worked at 5 of the locations and they are all the same. My advise is if you have your heart set on working for this company get into ProfitStar it has growth potential and pays the best 20-30% higher for the same job elsewhere in the company.

    Advice to Management

You might want to focus on something other than lawn care.
