    Pros

Good starting pay/benefits. Upper management and Leadership are very approachable and seem very concerned about the success of all employees.

    Cons

Facilities and work space do not always accommodate the amount of personnel on site.

I have been working at Jack Henry & Associates full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Work/life balance is great, benefits are excellent although sliding on Health insurance as most companies are with rising costs

    Cons

Your experience greatly varies depending on the department you work in and the supervisors and upper management you are under.

    Advice to Management

Take a look management to determine why people are leaving one department to go to another. Some even willing to take wage cuts just to get out from under those management practices.

    Pros

Able to work at home, fair pay and benefits

    Cons

Upper management has lost all goals of founders ambitions. Used to be a company for the employees. Now it's just a money making tool for those getting rich.

    Advice to Management

Revamp management structure, get back on track with founders goals. Listen to the people that's filling your wallets.

I have been working at Jack Henry & Associates full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Flexible work arrangements, generous PTO plan, paid holidays, 401K matching, and decent benefits plan

    Cons

Micromanagement, low wages, horrible upper management, slow to promote, and lack of training

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees and get rid of current upper management! Employee morale is at a all time low and people at the Help Desk are going to start leaving soon. Former Help Desk employees have left or transferred due to poor management and lack of career advancement. There was a high turnover rate at one point because so many employees left all at once in the department. Talk about a sinking ship!

I have been working at Jack Henry & Associates full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Good benefits. Flexibility depending on your role. Remote offices (telecommute).

    Cons

Low compensation for the industry. Little diversity in upper management. Little room for career growth unless you "play ball". Ongoing facility issues ranging from pests, to leaks causing black mold. The company went from a small - medium co. everyone seemed to enjoy working for to a full blown corporate setting in the last 2 years. We went from having a name and a face to an employee number. Duplicated mandatory training courses are required every quarter which is quite a nice waste of your time.

They won't look here for advice or even care what you have to say.

I have been working at Jack Henry & Associates for more than 3 years

    Pros

Good management in terms of not micro-managing employees. The overall culture of the company is very laid back and they are extremely flexible about letting employees work from home or be full time remote after trust has been established. They also allow travelling employees to keep their airline miles and hotel points which is a nice perk.

    Cons

As with a lot of older software companies these enterprise software solutions are implemented via old processes that need major overhaul. Documentation is severely lacking. Executive level management sets unrealistic time frames for major software projects yet refuses to hire on the necessary resources to complete the projects on time or pay competitive salaries to retain good employees. There is an heir from upper management that simply working for JHA is enough of a privilege to justify below market salaries and minimal annual raises (this may have been the case in the 90's and early 2000's but not anymore. Plenty of better companies to work for in terms of progressive employee treatment). Lots of talk about wanting employees input on process improvement but not a lot of action when it comes down to making the changes needed to create efficient processes, "stable" software and employee retention.

    Advice to Management

Maintain the laid back culture, recognize good employees and be willing to pay them to stick around. Stop trying to force innovation through changing UI's and un-realistic timeframes.

I worked at Jack Henry & Associates full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Benefits are good. Pay is decent if you have a bachelors degree.

    Cons

Work will vary from dept to dept; however, some depts are the absolute worst to work for. Employees have no say in any changes that are to happen for their product/service. Some teams are extremely gossipy, bringing down the overall morale. Upper management has no clue and does not care as to what happens in the lower tier.

    Advice to Management

Show some appreciation to employees and invest in team building and management training.

  9. "Excellent Work Environment"

I worked at Jack Henry & Associates

    Pros

Excellent employee perks and benefits. Upper management seems to really value employees and care about their happiness. Most everyone I interacted with seemed happy and were willing to help out and collaborate.

    Cons

The headquarters, while amazing and beautiful, is in the middle on nowhere. You either have to live in the small town where it's located or commute from a larger town/city.

    Advice to Management

Keep it up! I really enjoyed my time at Jack Henry. Even though I was just an intern, I was made to feel like a valuable part of the team.

I have been working at Jack Henry & Associates full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

There are some great people at Jack Henry who work hard and are very respectful, wonderful individuals. The company focuses on its customers and employees and has created a unique culture where hard work is generally recognized and work/life balance is encouraged for most people. For a long time, employees down the ranks felt like an important part of the company

    Cons

The last year and a half, Jack Henry has seemingly become just like every corporation where politics now plays a much larger role and people who are good at pandering to upper management have been rewarded. Movement up the chain is very difficult. The benefits are good, though the costs for health and dental have risen rapidly (over 300% for me) over the last half decade. A lot depends on the manager for whom you work. Training is weak at best.

    Advice to Management

The reasons so many felt loyalty to Jack Henry are disappearing. I would re-evaluate managers and get more direct feedback from those on the front lines. Make employees feel a part of the process instead of just another cog.
