I have been working at Jack Link's Protein Snacks full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Autonomy, good work life balance, meaningful work, above average salary and benefits, no nonsense culture, performance driven, great freebies (samples, tickets, etc)

    Cons

Not the same type of education and career progression as other big CPG companies, at times feels unorganized and a sense of “winging it”

I have been working at Jack Link's Protein Snacks full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Privately held and innovative. Good people and committed team members in all areas. The recognized brand leader in the category.

    Cons

Under staffed, unsophisticated systems, too many silos. Lack of due diligence and insights, speed to shelf, on boarding process is "sink or swim."

    Advice to Management

    Invest in people

    Negative Outlook

I worked at Jack Link's Protein Snacks full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Privately owned and seemed to be, from the outside, employee driven. Leader in its industry and a great advertising campaign, although in need of new imagination.

    Cons

This company seems to be trying to find its way. Recently laid off their entire national retail sales team in a 1:30 conference call. That's one and a half minutes, not an hour and a half. Also, they are late to the market with promotions and competition is on their heels. Complacency seems to be common. Poor 401k program. Little match.

    Advice to Management

Sell and fight like you are on the bottom trying to rise up. You've lost your edge. Offer your employees a better retirement package/match.

I worked at Jack Link's Protein Snacks full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

If you work hard they will leave you alone. which I did

    Cons

They don't promote from with in. To top heavy. Jack Links was always one to say Family first. Well I thought I was part of that family, but he became to big and let a lot of people take over in another direction.

    Advice to Management

To Jack Links slow down and look at what is happening to your company. To many chefs and not enough Indians. You need people out in the field. People working in office does not sell J/L's
