I worked at Jack Link's Protein Snacks full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Fun Environment Lots of Jerky Good management at the Plant I worked at. Plenty of Giveaways. Great company parties The plant I worked at loved to celebrate success and goals Fun company culture Great Benefits (Medical, Dental, Eye Care, plus many others)

    Cons

I want to make it clear that this is not a bashing at all but more constructive criticism. I think once the right people are placed in the correct leadership position this company will be wonderful to work for but until then I think they have a lot of work to do to get there and here are some of the cons that I experienced: 1. My first year of employment, I went through 5 different bosses 2. Corporate IT Management...

    Advice to Management

If you are going to tell someone that you are part of the Jack Links family, treat them like they are and not a replaceable body. Try to retain your employees who are have the talent and are devoted to the organization and not let them walk out the door so easily. I joined Jack Link's IT with hopes of growing and developing, and saw how quickly that wasn't the case.

I have been working at Jack Link's Protein Snacks full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Free food Fun Parties Relaxed dress code

    Cons

If you are considering a job at Jack Links here are 10 things I wish I had known- 1. Travel is part of the culture. Even when it is unnecessary. 2. If you work hard for 8 hours then go home, you are looked at as lazy compared to someone who is on site for 10-12 hours but doesn't really do any work. 3. Vulgar language directed at individuals is common. 4. No working...

I worked at Jack Link's Protein Snacks

    Pros

    - Cool product - Free Jerky and occasional gifts - Not a ton of micro-management

    Cons

Jack Links is a company of hypocrisy. It's a $1 billion company that forces its employees to buy their own tickets to its major events, which they have enough money to put on but can't give anyone bonuses and lay off countless people a year. They offer bare minimum for benefits, no sick days, all a very small amount of vacation days, and their upper management bullies middle...

    Advice to Management

Learn to care about your employees, because I sat and watched otherwise new middle management members leave on a regular basis. The employees are what builds the company, not the angry, lost people sitting at the top, living in their multi-million dollar houses while everyone else can't make ends meet.

I worked at Jack Link's Protein Snacks full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

If you work hard they will leave you alone. which I did

    Cons

They don't promote from with in. To top heavy. Jack Links was always one to say Family first. Well I thought I was part of that family, but he became to big and let a lot of people take over in another direction.

    Advice to Management

To Jack Links slow down and look at what is happening to your company. To many chefs and not enough Indians. You need people out in the field. People working in office does not sell J/L's
