I have been working at Jack in the Box full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

The culture is great and great CEO. Feels like a small company within a big company. Many employees with long tenure.

    Cons

Recent cuts in G&A were not made wisely and left a lot of people feeling un motivated.

    Advice to Management

Don't lose touch with the little people. Get some feedback from them and do something with it.

I have been working at Jack in the Box part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    There are no pros.
    Not even free food...
One pro you can go up in management quick but not worth the pay for an extra dollar...

    Cons

    Pay for lunch
Fast pace to the next level
Closing sucks because morning cooks talk crap on you even if you do an okay job
My partner cook would always leave me alone so pretty much made the meat and assembled the burgers on my own.
It is exhausting at the end.
People in the front will mix up the orders which cause one to be behind.

    Advice to Management

Hire more employees when you notice you have employees that need to get terminated.

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

Depending on your supervisor there is a lot of flexibility which is good for work/life balance. If you've been with the company a long time the pay is good as you were there when raises were better.

    Cons

This company has gone down hill over the years. There is a huge gap in pay and treatment between Sr. management and everyone else. They say they provide a great culture where people can thrive but it simply is not true.

    Advice to Management

Share the wealth. Departments are told to cut budgets and get by with less while leadership does not lead my example, expensing expensive dinners and paying car allowances.

I worked at Jack in the Box (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Exciting place to work; there is always a new shiny goal or brand direction to stay ahead of the competition.

    Cons

It's no longer the Jack that everyone wants to work at: recent additions to management staff in the last few years have eroded the trust between management and employees, lack of effective communication and leadership at all levels, constant layoffs to secure bottom-line financials/stock price without understanding the real consequences of talent drain, inability to finish projects with successful completion and no obvious learning from past project mistakes, and the unwillingness to spend the funds needed on technology that is essential for the QSRs future success.

    Advice to Management

More focus is needed across the entire enterprise. Management is trying to do too much with too few resources to be ultimately successful. The pipeline of projects isn't thoroughly understood or documented across the enterprise and the business units still act like dysfunctional silos instead of a cohesive team, striving for the success of the brand. It's time for a meaningful change, Jack.

I worked at Jack in the Box (More than 10 years)

    Pros

It's a great place to work with flexible work schedules and a nice group of people with which to work.

    Cons

Everyone is constantly worried about the next round of layoffs and that promotes an unproductive environment which causes allot of stress.

    Advice to Management

Make your decisions about downsizing in a more timely fashion so that employees are not left hanging and wondering if they will have a job next month.
