I have been working at Jackson Family Wines full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great people work here. JFW is a great company to work for as they care about their employees... this shows through the significant tenure held by many employees. Great product, good benefits and perks as well as great work life balance. Lots of opportunity to drive change and improve operations and this is supported at the senior executive level.

    Cons

Typical resource constraints that you will see at most companies.

    Advice to Management

Keep listing to the employees on how to continuously improve processes and company benefits.

    Pros

    Great company with great people.

    Cons

Sometimes difficult in marketing because the brands operate almost as separate companies and can be difficult.

I worked at Jackson Family Wines for more than 10 years

    Pros

Great people IF you are on the right team. Knowledgeable, helpful and collaborative in fulfilling goals. I worked within the IT department on numerous projects.

    Cons

Unfortunately, some groups have inept, lackadaisical management that got their position through pastries and bs.

    Advice to Management

Actually get to know a person and what their capabilities are when filling positions.

I have been working at Jackson Family Wines full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Free wine, great people, decent holiday parties

    Cons

Up to 14 hour days for weeks at a time during the peak. I don't know how legal to have that long with no days off but it's standard for the wine industry. The international harvest interns had a pretty terrible deal in terms of having to figure out their own living/transportation issues considering the amount they're paid, even with overtime

    Advice to Management

This company is bloated and has too many people on the sales and business side making decisions that affect wine quality and in general ends up reducing the ability of personnel actually doing the labor of winemaking to do it well. Treating people well is the only way to improve quality and avoid overhiring, stop firing people and expecting the ones left to work harder for less

Great people, great wine, lots of opportunity. They treat people very well. Excellent new-employee orientation.

Office space is a bit crowded, but they are in the process of updating that.

I worked at Jackson Family Wines for more than a year

    Pros

Great people, a lot of mutual respect on the team. Fun work environment, lots of perks.

    Cons

Not a lot of room to move up, somewhat underfunded IT dept. causes managers to wear too many hats.

    Advice to Management

Management is overwhelmed with tasks at times, which prevents them assigning and reviewing tasks for their reports.
