I worked at Jackson National Life full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Job stability. Great benefits! Great co-workers!!!!

    Cons

I think this position is meant to be a lot more pleasant than it is. When I started the job I was told it's a great position where we get to talk to sweet old people, explain their benefits and brighten their day. What really happened was I got to talk to mean old people and their even meaner beneficiaries. That isn't the main problem though. It's life, it was expected. Working in the Jackson call center was like...

    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Jackson National Life full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    The co-workers are very friendly.

    Cons

DO NOT take a customer service position here. They make you work long hours with little or no breaks and they often take your lunch away as well. They pay you next to nothing and they take all dignity you ever had

I have been working at Jackson National Life full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    Good pay, hours and benefits.

    Cons

As several others have posted here I have found the company to have a very narrow demographic profile for employees they promote through the system. If you are not a young recent graduate with little to no work experience the advancement opportunities are slim and none. If you are 35-40+ and are considering taking an entry level position because of the currently challenged job market, do so only if you understand you...

    Advice to Management

Instead of preaching to employees that Jackson is a great place to work make an honest effort to make it one. truly great companies don't have to tell employees this, the employees recognize it and encourage others prospective employees to be a part of it. Level the playing field for all associates eager to move up or laterally within the organization. Promote based on effort, education, attitude, punctuality and...

    Pros

You will be provided good benefits and a solid job with a routine. No worries of lay offs and you can be comfortable in the job.

    Cons

Difficult to move up, they do not look to entry level employees to move into the next levels easy.

    Advice to Management

Remember your entry level employees run the front line, they are valuable and should beable to futhur their careers if they would like internally.

    Approves of CEO

I worked at Jackson National Life

    Pros

The company has great benefits: health, dental, daycare, on-site cafeteria, jeans days, etc. I love working with the people in this company. Since it is large you have exposure to a variety of people. I am proud to work for the company because they do so much work for the community. We have monthly newsletters regarding topics specifically related to the employees and our CEO gives us continuous feedback regarding the...

    Cons

It is a long walk to the building from the parking lot. The customer service departments are sometimes not very flexible about family issues.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the line staff because they have first hand knowledge of the business operations.
