I worked at Jackson National Life full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    Lovely building, great cafeteria.

    Cons

The culture in the IT and Operations departments is very unhealthy. People with limited education and work experience have been in control of these areas for nearly 20 years. If you're not a friend or a family member of one of these people, it's very unlikely that you will ever get promoted. There is no work/life balance: you will be expected to be at their mercy at all hours of the day. You will be expected to party and drink with middle and VP-level management if you want a chance at a promotion. You will most likely be mocked behind your back if management suspects you don't worship them. Infidelities are not uncommon. This is all 100% true! Do not be tempted to join this company!

    Cons

-Corporate Politics - It's not about what you know, it is who you know. -HR does a poor job of working with long-time employees and does not due their due diligence because the demand for a job at Jackson is high.

I worked at Jackson National Life for more than a year

    Pros

Great amenities, good cafeteria, gym. Etc.

    Cons

Toxic people are at the top and bad attitudes and competition are fully supported vs. coordination and communication. The top people enjoy controversy. HR is a joke, bad things can happen and people are treated unfairly...if you are AVP or above you can do whatever you want to anyone with HR's full support. They will potentially have their behind handed to them if that does not change.

I worked at Jackson National Life full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Beautiful building, nice cafeteria, the company protects its corporate image by giving a lot of money to community charity groups.

    Cons

Ignore the allure of this place. Hard work is rewarded with requests for even harder work. They are master manipulators, keeping you hopeful and frightened at the same time.

I have been working at Jackson National Life full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Good benefits, nice building. Good severance package when they decide to clean house - which is frequent.

    Cons

Terrible mid-level management. Constant change without having direction. Lots of women in upper management that are only there because of their friends. It is definitely a who you know not what you know environment. "Yes-women" go far.
