    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Jackson National Life full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

If you can get on high priority projects and make a name for yourself, you'll get some nice bonuses. They do buy nice tech, so you will be working with some modern stuff. If you are starting out as a software developer, the only requirement to make Senior is to put in a few years, so it is a nice resume builder.

    Cons

A very pathological culture. Lots of scapegoating, passing the buck, and abyssal communincation from leadership Employee engagement in IT has tanked the last two or three years. The on-call rotation is brutal (and you aren't compensated). There is a nice little ring of nepotism that sees employees all belonging to a certain outside organization climbing the ladder mind-bogglingly fast. If you can sell makeup,... you'll do well there.

    Advice to Management

Clean up the nepotism, fix the culture, hire an ethics consultant.

    Pros

Solid culture. Good group of people

    Cons

Mid to large sized financial companies are slow to adapt to changes. Some of Jacksons processes and internal sites are very painful

    Advice to Management

Spend money rebuilding some things the Right way, not just redoing them to redo them.

I have been working at Jackson National Life full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Benefits Annual bonus Free lunch (Sometimes)

    Cons

You will spend a majority of your time supporting a partner who makes 10 times as much as you and who at the same time cannot do their job unless you are there to book meetings, answer product questions and also cover other territories from the queue. Expectations for this position are very high while the compensation is very low.

    Advice to Management

If you want to create incentive for employees to stay you must be competitive with compensation. Also offer more flexible jobs or programs for employees with families.
