I worked at Jackson National Life (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good pay (12.50/hr) for a college kid, very flexible hours, nice trainers and managers. Only have to work 15 hours a week, can work up to 40ish if you choose (they always sent out an email asking if anybody wanted to work more). Free coffee.

The best perk of working at Jackson was the flexibility - you can call out as much as you want (as long as its' 24 hours prior to your shift starting). As a full time student with 19 credits this was a huge advantage if I had a heavy work load. You didn't have to explain yourself to an angry boss - all you had to do was send an email to the administrators and they always gave the OK.

    Cons

Redundant. The tasks I was trained on involved doing to exact same process every time. There were shifts where they have you stuck on the same skill the entire time which becomes tedious and mentally taxing.

I dreaded working more than 3 hours at a time. I could not have done this job long term.

Corporate environment. Can be lonely at times, because you sit next to someone new, but hardly ever strike up a conversation. There are 100s of SSAs, I only knew 5-10 personally.

    Advice to Management

Find a way to make SSAs more interactive with each other - this will create a happier environment.
