I worked at Jackson Rancheria Casino Resort (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Fun people to work with. Supervisors easy to get all along with. Very physical job requiring you to hustle, but this makes the shift go by faster. Fun environment working in a busy casino.

    Cons

The casino's "zero tolerance" approach toward its attendance point policy results in the loss of valuable employees while the most incompetent workers continue to linger in their jobs despite countless complaints. Many days, you work 11-hours and only receive a couple of ten minute breaks and a half-hour lunch. This job is recognized as the hardest job in the entire casino because of the level of physical exertion it requires in an extremely fast paced environment.

    Advice to Management

If you want to boost morale, get rid of the employees who are nothing but dead weight they make everyone else's job much harder.

I worked at Jackson Rancheria Casino Resort full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Not many pros anymore. It used to be a good place to work but has steadily gone downhill since Margaret passed away

    Cons

Most of management has never worked in another casino and doesn't have a clue what to do. Hoffman is a joke.

    Advice to Management

Too much favoritism. People get jobs that they don't deserve because of who they know.

I have been working at Jackson Rancheria Casino Resort full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

They really care for their employees and if you are willing to put the hours in you are rewarded with compensation and benefits.

    Cons

Long hours, always short staffed. The lead cooks could be better trained to lead but not much else.

    Advice to Management

Pick people who can be leaders to take management positions not just based off of time worked there and favoritism.

    Pros

Good benefits package, good cafeteria for employees, not too sure about what else to say to make the twenty word requirement

    Cons

Low job satisfaction, unhealthy work environment, mandatory overtime, little recognition, no positive reinforcement, horrible hours, unhappy atmosphere

I worked at Jackson Rancheria Casino Resort full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great benefits, nice people, pleasant atmosphere. It was a great place to work ptior to the economic downturn. I had a great experience while with the company.

    Cons

Like all 24hr businesses, it is hard to balance work and home life. In most casinos you start on grave which can be difficult to adjust to.

    Advice to Management

Look to send some of you management on outing to scout other properties. Have them look at other operations and take positives as well as negatives. Look to possibly add some of the positives to their departments.

I worked at Jackson Rancheria Casino Resort full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

It can be a fun job and the location is great...the Sierra Nevada foothills is beautiful.

    Cons

The upper management has their nose way up in the air and won't give the regular peeps the time of day. I worked there for 7 years and watched as it went from a great place to work for most, to a real joke. Once the original founder died in 2006 ( I think ?) it went down hill fast. Her sons took over and stopped caring for and respecting their employee's. A real shame, because it was a great place to work back in those days.

    Advice to Management

Stop disrespecting your employee's and come down from the imaginary throne that you seem to think you deserve to be on.

    Pros

I had a blast working here and getting to know my peers. I miss this job everyday and i would go back in a second if i could

    Cons

The starting pay is good but the tips are where its at and the tips aren't always very good.

    Advice to Management

My management team was amazing! I dont have a word of advice for the slots department they were the best
