I have been working at Jackson & Coker full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Jackson Healthcare the Parent company is amazing! On site health clinic, restaurant, and gym! With the new building I’m sure the upgrades to this company will be amazing.

    Cons

This company only pays attention to the sales side of things. Support staff is treated like they don’t matter and are easily replaceable. **Inability to telecommute!** one of the only companies under the Jackson Healthcare umbrella who WILL NOT allow their employees to telecommute. This is the way corporate America is leaning yet this company is still moving at a snails pace in keeping up.

    Advice to Management

Consider allowing employees to telecommute once a week at least based on tenure. Many people will wind up leaving if this adjustment is not made soon.

I have been working at Jackson & Coker full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Was referred by a close friend that works for another Jackson Healthcare company and have loved every minute of it.

    Cons

    I haven't found one yet

    Advice to Management

Having worked for very large world wide corporation with over 200,000 employees to small business that has less than 100 employees I can truly appreciate all that Jackson and Coker has to offer. I love that they promote a culture of learning and giving. I have never worked for a company that truly walks the talk and yet still strives for more and to do better each year. I love that we are part of a family of... companies for Jackson Healthcare that is changing the world in a variety of ways. I can't wait to see what the future holds.

I worked at Jackson & Coker full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Jackson healthcare is charitable and has amazing core values and beliefs. Just wish all departments (accounting specifically) practiced what LT AND JH do. JC could learn alot by how LT and JH run.

    Cons

While the company of Jackson healthcare stands for so many great positive things Jackson & Coker seems dead end. No opportunity for growth and alot of favoritism. When asked to leave and go to LT it is known that upper management won't allow it as this is a comoetitior. Other companies under JC seem to have better leadership and care more about the employees. JC IS a dead end go to LT!

    Advice to Management

Get a president that allows people to move within all companies under the JH family to benefit their career and their growth. Get upper management to practice the core values set by the Jackson family.

I worked at Jackson & Coker full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

People. Building. Great amenities. Location. The philanthropic initiatives organized by the parent company Jackson Healthcare. "Best Places to Work". Benefits are great.

    Cons

At the end of the day you are nothing but a number to management which I guess is to be expected in sales. Lots of forward thinking people but little improvement.

    Advice to Management

The acts of humiliation and degradation are horrible and disturbing.

I worked at Jackson & Coker full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great building (cafe, gym, etc.). Very nice people who work hard and like to have fun. Potential to make good money. Opportunity to go earn presidents club trip/vacation. Interesting business/industry.

    Cons

J&C is the "red-headed step child" of Jackson Healthcare. Sure, Rick Jackson founded it originally, but it was bought and sold several times, and along with it came extremely poor leaders/management. The president acts like a cheerleader, and puts on a good show. But don't you dare cross her, or you will be put in the doghouse and treated like a second-class citizen. If you are to survive on her executive staff,... you know that you tell her what she wants to hear....so often she does not know the truth. If you perform well, you have the opportunity to make a lot of money, and to win President's Club vacation. But there is a lot of politics involved, and often times, the real winners don't get shut out, while the politically correct get the favors.

    Advice to Management

When an employee expresses concerns, frustrations, etc. don't get defensive and interrogate your employee. Don't ask your employees to perform duties, and then question or second guess their actions from afar. Don't lecture your employees and/or treat them like children.

    I worked at Jackson & Coker full-time

    Pros

Shiny building with all the bells and whistles for Jackson Healthcare (difference between them and Jackson & Coker). And why do you think they offer all of those "perks" but J&C doesn't offer anything special in addition to it...

    Cons

Where to start.... - The job itself is in a saturated market which makes it hard for doctors to remember who called them and they will take the better paying offer (makes sense). The way J&C acts (they ride the coattails of Jackson Healthcare) you’re competing against your own company at Locum Tenens! - Severely lacking with technology for employees. You’ll become a wiz at excel since when you get started, you... have to track down and badger coworkers for info on the doctors you submitted as a lead. Be prepared to waste a huge amount of your time, 35%+ of each day, keeping up with this so you get paid correctly at the end of the month. - That's right NO automated payment process for the "Search Consultants" which you could be stuck in for 1+ year(s). - Prematurely celebrates wins. Real Recruiters know it doesn’t mean anything if the person doesn’t start working, but here they congratulate and hype up the same people on getting the verbal acceptance vs. an actual start. - Too much emphasis on quantity of phone calls vs. quality. - Management claims they want your feedback, but will use it against you at a later time (like to help them fire you which they did to a high producing and 2+ year tenured co-worker who was no longer happy). - Get ready to be blasted back to the high school clique days along with gossip that everyone, including management chimes in on. There are no secrets here… except amongst the managers who leave you guessing on what’s going to be their next sleazy plan to get you cranking out more phone calls, or who is going to get fired or is leaving next.

    Advice to Management

Tried giving advice/feedback and it wasn't well received. Rather not waste time giving advice and let their own destructive behaviors and poor management continue to bite them on their own. Advice to potential candidates: Be prepared to make 70+ calls a day, listen to sob stories from doctors, be surrounded by cattiness and strange cliques, favoritism, constant wondering what management is talking about (they... partake in the office gossip too), and overall weird work environment.
