    I worked at Jacobs full-time

    Pros

The people are so nice at the Jacob Conchy office and are constantly having social outings and get togethers that bring their people and their families together. The company has great experts and assets in their company. Great place to learn and ask many questions specially being new in the industry. The Fire Protection department is awesome best Manager Charlie super down to earth, expert in his role and supports his team! Thus far best department and company I've ever worked.

    Cons

Hourly pay even though the company considers it salary. You have to be accountable for every minute and hour what project you work on.

    Advice to Management

Training, workshop and leadership opportunities to advance in the core business areas for people interested to move around.

I have been working at Jacobs full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Jacobs in Conshohocken is more of a community than an employer. Senior process engineers will spend time and effort to help younger engineers reach their potential. As a young professional the process team in Conshohocken has supported me to the fullest extent. I am surrounded by driven individuals and the more experienced engineers spend a great deal of time making sure that we are challenged. Many companies I have worked for would relegate minor duties to young engineers that the unit could be most efficient. The Jacobs process team presents constant opportunities for less experienced employees to grow and learn. It is a competitive environment that values growth from the bottom. Young engineers are exposed to a variety of skills, helping them develop their value as professionals in the future. Management is responsive to their employees goals and innovation is valued regardless of your experience.

40 hours a week is entirely acceptable. As employees that are paid at an hourly rate we have the freedom to extend ourselves and earn more than we could elsewhere, if that is our desire. Hours are flexible, which is fantastic for team members that have more responsibility outside of the office.

    Cons

Insurance plans seem to be expensive. Compensation in hourly wages is high so having a spouse that has access to less expensive insurance rates is a boon, but not realistic for many of the team members.

    Advice to Management

Continue to present opportunities to all levels of employees. Challenge everyone to help us better understand our future.

I have been working at Jacobs full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Variety of job experience. Travel (job dependent). Field Experience (job dependent). Great pay. Never stuck doing the same thing for years on end.

    Cons

Instability of market can lead to downsizing. Benefits not good.

I have been working at Jacobs full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great compensation, lots of work share, many options to move up

    Cons

Corporate bureaucracies, which of course will happen in a firm this large. My biggest issue was that the company will only go after big projects, so if your field or location is based on smaller projects you will become only support to other groups. I felt cornered.

    Advice to Management

This is hard to say since there are so many different areas.

I have been working at Jacobs full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

4 days work week. Competitive compensation. Good size company. Relative stable job condition. Job security highly depends on oil price.

    Cons

No core technology or product. Highly dependent on reimbursable project from P & C market. Very competitive job environment for PE.

    Advice to Management

Need to establish core technology or "stuff" that others do have. Management has to be stronger to clients. Need to build more team spirit amount employees.

I worked at Jacobs full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good pay and benefits. 4/10 work schedule.

    Cons

Implied that you will work OT. Upper management politics usually to the detriment of the common employee. Losing project bids to competing companies by operating with old school methodologies.

    Advice to Management

Actually get to know your employees on the ground.
