I worked at Jacobs as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

The people in the office were generally nice and there were various events after work for people to meet others in the office.

    Cons

As an intern, the Mechanical group did not have much for me to do. I asked for work or projects and they either didn't have time to teach me how to help with a project or didn't have one at all. I ended up doing mostly clerical work: reading reports, printing reports, checking for errors. My manager was also very deadline oriented and created a stressful work environment.

    Advice to Management

More focus needs to be put into providing interns with challenging work so that they may develop new skills and learn about the industry. If you're looking to hire your interns, you want to make sure you prepared them to work in your company.
