    do away with black and decker club and hire someone who understands manufacturing excellence

    nice people at he production facility in Geogria. they want to get it correct.People save companies and Jacuzzi does not get it!

    Cons

    Management does don't value production enough and would rather move to Mexico . Way to much black and decker thoughts about brand or sister and not enough production savvy to know what is right. SAD

    Advice to Management

    fire the president who does not know what is going on. period....

    Pros

    Average benefits, flexible work schedule, holiday BBQ's and catered lunch

    Cons

    Poor management. Don't be fooled by the positive reviews, virtually impossible to be promoted if you didn't come from Black & Decker. TON's of favoritism. No raises in 6 yrs. Manufacture all spas in Mexico using underpaid, undertrained workers. Product Quality is really bad, requiring constant travel to Tijuana. Most workers that are left from downsizing, don't care anymore. Moral is ridiculously low. Knowledgeable employees have left only leaving a few that can't go anywhere else due to their high salary or title. Only know a small handful of coworkers that like their job, most I speak with are looking for other employment. Accept an offer AT YOUR OWN RISK.

    Advice to Management

    Management is the problem. No Quality program, No infrastructure, No leadership. This is what happens when you hire your buddy instead of the most qualified person. My advice would be for the decision makers to resign but that is highly unlikely. The company is headed downhill fast.

    Pros

    Many interesting projects to work on.

    Cons

    Upper management all came from the same company. If you were not part of that group, there were few opportunities for growth, raises or appreciation for your department's contribution to the success of the company.

    Advice to Management

    Consider the skills and contributions of all employees, not only the favored few.

    Some staff members were friendly.

    Poor management, no proper support to help members grow in their careers.

    Advice to Management

    Learn the product fully and don't go back and forth on priorities, Made it very difficult for anyone to do and complete their tasks.

    the time i spent here helped me learn what not to do in my next job...

    Some old school people are just set in there ways... there is no way to change them as they think they know it all...

    Advice to Management

    legacy people from the Sundance/Jacuzzi need to change or leave. New blood will keep product, and process clean and easy. it's a hot tub- make it fun....stop over thinking.... bring back the building of the tubs to the USA... stop focusing on Canada as the dollar will remind the current way. you got lucky with the Canada growth when the dollar was weak.

    Pros

    Modern office, great fellow employees, everyone respects the workplace and each other

    Cons

    Deeply misinformed middle management. Shockingly inept at hiring and firing practices - attendance policy enforced radically different per person - with some fired with a 3-lates and out, and others being okay to take off hours, days, weeks, months on a whim with zero repercussions. The norm seems to be - if they need you right now you're golden, if your work doesn't have an upcoming deadline - you're likely to be let go and they don't lay people off they fire them abruptly. The HR personnel are some of the best in the business, and they have to be to put up with and defend the company from the poor business decisions and constant liability invoking choices made. We saw a remote channel manager position get filled and fired 3 times in 3 months. Some Presidents live in other states and report to work less than once per month; some channel managers also live in other states. meanwhile someone needing to work from home for a few days for surgery is told no.

    Advice to Management

    It is impossible to get people without introspection to look at themselves and see what they can do - they only look down the hill, and impose stricter controls and policing on subordinates. This culture of blaming down has been a detriment - your offices are silent joyless places. Get your act together, decide what and where each department should work and whom they should work with - trim the management fat who just push around cells on spreadsheets all day and leave early to pick up their kids all the time.

    Pros

    Interesting product category. Nice offices. Reasonable commute from Orange County most of the time.

    Cons

    Where to start...the place is run by a small clique of people that worked together at a former company. They operate like a cult. They concentrate power among themselves. They take credit for the team's accomplishments and blame outsiders for their bad decisions. Why have so many been fired? There are some talented people who operate outside of the clique but are subject to double standards, back stabbing, ridicule or simply being ignored.

    Advice to Management

    Advice to the private equity sponsors: spend time trying to understand what is really happening here instead of accepting the explanations of senior management.

    Pros

    Fancy office. Good starting pay.

    Cons

    No performance reviews or pay increases. Zero investment into training or developing employees. Upper management seems to be very well compensated while the majority of employees live in fear of losing our jobs and fear asking for help from HR because people who do have coincidentally become victims of "downsizing". There is a complete double standard with time off and coming in late/ leaving early. If you're management, it's fine. If you're of a lower level, forget it. I constantly feel like someone is watching me and tracking my coming and going. Not the kind of environment a professional can thrive in.

    Advice to Management

    Talk to your non management employees. When someone goes to HR with a concern, listen to them! We are miserable and feel afraid. We have lost so much talent over the past 2-3 years and replaced it with unambitious people who seem more interested in fancy coffee than growing our business. If you wonder why you can't hire good people, read these reviews!!

    Pros

    If you are looking for opportunities across all areas which include: broken processes, minimalistic data reporting, archaic MRP system, keeping overheads low, you probably get the picture by now, then this is the place to work.

    Cons

    Mediocrity will always be Jacuzzi's first & last name. Prior to the housing fiasco, they were just about making money but now barely keeping up. 3 changes in senior management in the last 5 years. No bonuses in the last 2 years due to reasons mentioned above. No plan for personal growth. Some folks have fancy titles but it does not imply much. The amount invested in technology & people is practically non-existent as cash is frugal.

    Advice to Management

    Need to have one focused overall vision to grow this company. Need to invest in technology & people. Need to increase prices and hold their ground. Improve Quality & reduce unnecessary overhead.
