I have been working at Jafra full-time

    Pros

Friendly, good benefits, great people to work with directly.

    Cons

Disorganized, technology lacking, upper level management lacks focus.

    Advice to Management

    Listen beyond Director positions

I have been working at Jafra full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The product line offers decent formulations. The Preferred Customer program allows one to join as a consultant for the 30 to 50% off discount, with no sales quotas or annual fees. Which wonderful if you should choose not to sell the products and only use them for yourself.

    Cons

Products are manufactured in Mexico and not in the United States. Several parcels that I have received are either poorly packaged and contain damaged items or are simply missing. An emphasis seems to be placed on Latino individuals with this company. This line of products was developed for ALL people. Speak English!

    Advice to Management

Drop Spanish from your products packaging. English and French are the only two languages that should be listed on your products. I am sick and tired of receiving product literature or news letters only in Spanish.

I worked at Jafra full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Salary, benefits, work environment, cheery co-workers.

    Cons

A lot of structure and protocol, unavoidable office politics, conservative company with a very narrow view of office etiquette.

    Advice to Management

Distinct lack of team building; please incorporate team building and diffuse office drama, define delegation of assignments more clearly.

    Pros

Free online training and webinars, well known high quality products

    Cons

To get 50% discount you have to put in a minimum order of $400 or more. You have to buy your own brochures and the company does not offer enough product samples, also you put in your own gas and time..by that time you are barely cutting even

    Advice to Management

Offer better prices on the brochures, also help consultants amp up their online sales by offering free shipping with orders over $50 like Avon does

I worked at Jafra (More than a year)

    Pros

A company that promotes and cares about women's well-being
    Understanding of work/ life balance
    Friendly employees
One of the best teams I worked with in my entire career
    International opportunities

    Cons

Weak HR department-- one employee had 10+ HR file complaints and the company did nothing about the employee

Previous CEO I worked for (fired now) had very little understanding of beauty/ women industry, which made it difficult for everyone else underneath but hopefully that's improved with the new CEO

Located in Thousand Oaks-- not ideal for anyone who is not settled down with their own family

    Advice to Management

Hopefully after losing the entire team over a course of a year or two due to one bad apple, the company will take action sooner next time!

I worked at Jafra full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    - Generally, nice people to work with internally and in other departments.
    - Decent health care plans, especially for families
    - Great 401-K, company matches 100% up to 5% of your salary
    - Headquarters are in a nice location with multiple lunch options nearby
    - Cafeteria on-site with rotating menu options

    Cons

    - Low compensation especially for entry level
    - While certain departments had more promotions, other departments lacked promotions
    - Little vacation offered, and takes 5 years to get an additional week of vacation

    Advice to Management

    - Take the time and effort to give high ratings on yearly reviews for hardworking employees who go above and beyond their daily duties.
    - Don't be afraid to offer a promotion to your employees just because you think it might cause tension in your own department. Promotions should be deserved through hard work as well as the time spent with the company.
    - Suggest having an extra vacation day earned after each year of employment, and setting a maximum number.

    Pros

People are very nice. Very little politics to deal with.

    Cons

Slow growth due to flat organization structure.

    Advice to Management

Focus on innovation. Separate the innovators from the day to day activities required to run the busiiness. Provide more learning opportunities to employees that have demonstrated ecelent performance and potential for growth
