I have been working at Jagex full-time

    Pros

Relaxed, fun and friendly atmosphere. Some of the best people I've ever worked with.
Lots of room for mobility, especially with access to learning resources and TAPP.
Fun jollies and office parties. Best benefits package I've had.
Onsite canteen. Nice office, especially since the refurb (still in progress at the time of writing).
Really hopeful outlook/atmosphere since the change of CEO - exciting times ahead!
The saying 'If you love what you do, you'll never work a day in your life' definitely applies.

    Cons

Pay and holiday allowance aren't great, though still better than what I've had in the past.

    Advice to Management

Please pay us more so that we can afford to live comfortably in Cambridge!

    Pros

    - CEO who knows what he wants and how to get us there

    - Great comms with internal updates via live stream, pay day beers with management in attendance

    - Good office facilities, due to be reinvented with what looks to be an exciting refurbishment

    - Much improved canteen in recent times at reasonable prices

    - Benefits package you just won't get elsewhere, including bonuses, parties, free fruit, gym membership, free health care, free dental...the list goes on

    - Ambition to be a major player in the industry, transformation underway

    - Some of the best talent you could wish to work with

    Cons

    - The changes over the last 18 months to set us up for long term success has been painful for some

    - A small but vocal minority of haters who just don't see how lucky they are, fortunately the number of these is dwindling

    - Can be slow on delivery of projects, typically for good reason but happens to often

    - Doesn't shout enough about the opportunities it offers staff for career progression, huge number of examples of people building careers

    Advice to Management

    - Start to celebrate what's good about the company and don't worry so much about what the haters say

    - Identify deadwood and get rid, don't let it spread and undermine the amazing work you are doing

    - Keep going, deliver on the transformation and those who go along on the journey will be part of something special

    Pros

Talented, hard-working individuals find opportunity in abundance.

An excellent benefits package that many take for granted.

Highly ambitious corporate outlook - marginal gains (and their associated group high-fives) are being replaced with high growth/profitability targets. These targets demand fresh thinking and innovative plays for the company; an exciting prospect for keen individuals that appreciate a challenge.

A diversifying talent pool; the narrow-minded and bitter old boys club is (thankfully) falling away.

Very exciting directional plans are being laid for the company, taking Jagex into the globalized era via a suite of new products under a strengthening brand.

A holistic view of Jagex is finally being recognized; silos have been identified as a first step to leveling the company for autonomy.

Much needed "no nonsense" messages are being broadcast from the top. Disgruntled nay-sayers are pulled from the woodwork into a revealing light (see results below).

A very exciting future lays ahead for employees with ambition and drive.

    Cons

Outdated workplace (to be refurbished in coming months).

A few toxic "untouchable" individuals remain.

An ingrained culture of reluctance to progression is still being torn away as Jagex transitions to a stronger industry position.

Talent is lackluster, in general. As we strengthen resourcing capabilities, this will change for the better. Lets create the talent-rich environment needed to realize Jagex' lofty ambitions.

I have been working at Jagex full-time

    Pros

Fantastic people, great benefits, great work atmosphere. Company has finally learnt it's lessons, and seems to have top a notch Senior management team focusing on the right areas.

It's not perfect, but definitely making all the right noises with Rob Cousens on board as CEO

    Cons

Lack of investment in development for a few years, now on the change - I hope and expect it to continue, though.

    Advice to Management

Keep working on Comms, company vision and development

I have been working at Jagex full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I have been at Jagex long enough to see a journey of what was a pet project turned business transition into a professional outfit. It has been turbulent yes but has improved year in year. Pros include:

    - A new CEO/senior management team with certifiable credentials professionally and academically.

    - Good opportunity for career development and diversification (if you're talented and willing to work hard).

    - RuneScape is a strong product that will provide stability for the foreseeable future.

    - Excellent benefits package.

    Cons

    - Something of a chequered past/reputation based on bad decisions in the past.

    - At times antiquated understandings of contemporary business practices.

    - Terrible choice in carpet tiles.

    Advice to Management

Continue to learn from our previous mistakes, the greatest mistake would be to miss this opportunity for growth. Things are improving and we should not be afraid to continue our evolution. Listen to the smart people in the business there are plenty of them. Trust that what is best for staff and best for business need not be mutually exclusive.

I have been working at Jagex full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

-Relaxed culture with flexible working arrangements, perfect for people with families and or longer commutes.
-Happy staff, with good perks. Great canteen, ping pong, nice location, science park is beautiful/.
-You can play games when you want to. As long as your work is getting done, there is nothing to stop you sitting in the state of the art games center and firing up some great games.
    -Given responsibility and accountability.
-You are treated like an adult and your opinions are heard and listen too.
-Management team are solid now, they work hard, focus and deliver. Its an open door culture with managers treating others as they would like to be treated them selves and what you see is what you get.
-Jagex has a huge potential to build out the RuneScape franchise and other titles are showing promise

    Cons

-Sometimes it can take a while to get off the science park
-The office could do with pimping up a bit. But excitingly I believe this is happening soon.

    Advice to Management

-Hold more regular i.e. 1/4ly company wide communications days. Coms in person are 100x more powerful than over email.
-More budget allocation to training would be good.

    Pros

Great people, some cutting edge tech, fantastic facilities, huge focus on community/customer engagement, department heads with autonomy, strong financial position meaning some fab perks like parties/gym membership/bike repair and bonuses!

    Cons

Had a lot of changes over recent years and some strategic twists and turns, but now very much in a more settled position with new leadership.

    Advice to Management

Keep communication high to ensure good change management and continue to invest in what is a cool "work hard, play hard" culture.
