I worked at Jaguar Land Rover (More than a year)

    Pros

The pros are pretty obvious, you get to drive Range Rovers and Jaguars all day,

    Cons

A lot of labor involved in washing, detailing, and prepping cars for delivery.

    Advice to Management

There should be some programs in place for college students to advance their career at Jaguar Land Rover

I have been working at Jaguar Land Rover full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Software and equipment and cars. Most people are pretty nice. The age range varies from a few older guys to many twenty-somethings. They hire females so the mix is fairly good.

    Cons

Lack of focus/direction. Lots of meetings that aren't beneficial most of the time. Too many projects that get started, stopped and revisited again after a competitor shows something similar. U.K. mentality in finances and management are outdated.

    Advice to Management

Tenure doesn't exist in this business so cut the chaff, shelve the ineffective people and reduce the number of middle management.

I worked at Jaguar Land Rover full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They have some nice people working there.

    Cons

They easily let you go without a reasonable explanation, just because you stand your ground on things they are wrong about and manager starts hating you !

    Advice to Management

Check all manager's mental health regularly ! Egos rule in crony environment's !

I worked at Jaguar Land Rover full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Exciting opportunity to be on the forefront of software technology in vehicles. Unique role that allows for both visual design and software development.

    Cons

A linear assembly-line approach to developing software product. Unrealistic goals with unreasonable deadlines leave you feeling unproductive and constantly pressured. Long timelines (years) to see your work in production if ever. Uncompetitive pay compared to those in the tech sector.

I have been working at Jaguar Land Rover full-time

    Pros

Great brand, some hard working employees.

    Cons

Every time a new GM comes in nepotism begins. After 4 GMs I have seen a lot of hard working people get "layed off" stating that said position is no longer available only to hire family members/ friends/ GF in those positions. This location under values so many hard working employees and raises are hard to come by, you're even afraid to ask for one because they might let you go for cheaper labor.

    Advice to Management

Start valuing your employees, Stop hiring friends and family and give other internal employees a fair shot at new positions, When employees have multiple complaints about one person do something about it don't just hope it will fizzle out, review your employees and give praise where its due. This store has so much potential but every manager needs to be re-trained in customer service and in general management as do all the employees. As long as you let the nepotism continue I do not see this store ever growing in a positive direction.

I worked at Jaguar Land Rover full-time

    Pros

Brand pull, Tata group company, good team, good leadership, happy environment. Why should this be a 20 word minimum ?

    Cons

Small set up in US limiting career advancement. Some jobs have late hours and others are very usual but pay is not accordingly set up. Negotiate!

I have been working at Jaguar Land Rover full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Still makes a good product. Growing market share.

    Cons

I've seen some troubling changes the past few months at JLR. A significant number of managers have either been fired or demoted to lesser roles. A lot of experienced, dedicated, people have been tossed aside like garbage. To see this many people treated so poorly makes me question my future with this company. Sadly, the company I respected so much is no different than any of the other ruthless organizations who treat you like a number. Huge letdown.

    Advice to Management

Start treating people like humans and with respect.

I worked at Jaguar Land Rover full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The corporate facility is a great environment surrounded by woods.

    Cons

Long-time employees are given excuse after excuse for not being given opportunities for advancement. It can be an extremely political environment.
