I worked at Jake's Wayback Burgers full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I took on managing a Wayback Burgers and it started off ok. The woman who hired me was great but then a few months in she sold the business.

    Cons

the corporate model for employees makes a manager take on the role of an hourly employee. So, you literally have no time for the duties of the manager unless you stay late. By the end I was working 6 days a week 12 hour days. The owner was only interested in profit. He didn't care about his employees at all. It's understood it's a business but if you don't appreciate the people who work for you they leave. I had many employees quit because of the owner's disrespectful, uncaring attitude towards them. I felt immediately better when I too, quit!

    Advice to Management

The managers can be amazing but without the support of the owner of can be unsuccessful.

I worked at Jake's Wayback Burgers part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The only pro I can think of the that if or when or get a brake you get one free food idem and on your days off you get one thing half off.

    Cons

    It was poorly managed.
They didn't tell me where anything was or how to do everything at the register. And when I did ask how to do something or where something was they got mad at me for not knowing.
During rush hours they expected me to take orders, make milkshakes, keep the tables clean, keep up with the pans, and make sure the trash was not full.
When it was busy and I could't get away from the register to make a milkshake they acted like it was an innocence that they need someone else to go to register 2.

    Advice to Management

Actually train your employees. Tell them where things are and how things work. Don't let them go after a couple of week because they "Weren't learning". How can they learn if you don't teach them? Have enough people working so that everything is getting done faster.

I worked at Jake's Wayback Burgers part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Free food, repetitive tasks. Once you learn your tasks you never do anything new.

    Cons

Limited kitchen equipment makes rush times stressful. Not always clear on job responsibilities.Work 4 hour shifts.

    Advice to Management

Make sure to thoroughly explain each responsibility to new recruits. The assigned trainer sometimes doesn't communicate important responsibilities.
