    Pros

Great company to work for. Really feel respected and appreciated. Weekends off, for the most part. A great learning environment. All around excellent.

    Cons

Pay is a little lower than expected, but they make up for it in the work environment.

    Advice to Management

    Nothing negative to say.

I worked at James Avery part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Best reason is meeting and helping individuals make a decision that is very important to them because it involves their love ones. And I take great pride being able to do that. Also becoming a team player, working and learning from all staff members.

    Cons

I worked during the Holiday season so the only thing that comes to mind are the very, very, long lines of customers. Even with that being said, I only encountered a few complaints regarding that situation.

    Advice to Management

    Management was wonderful to me.

I have been working at James Avery part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Enjoyable helping people make memories. Charm bracelet are huge and each religious piece has a specific meaning it makes you happy to hear personal stories.

    Cons

None to speak of.... Other than typical cattiness that comes with a bunch women in small space. There will be personality clashes.

I worked at James Avery full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good benefits and salary and vacation.

    Cons

Joined James Avery after hearing a lot of good things. About 1.5 years of service rec'd a big bonus. That was a surprise. I did not know why it was sent to me and no one got it. Upon my termination, got three months of salary with benefits.

James Avery management and HR knew very well that I was a whistle blower. I had criticized the management for being inefficient and for not using latest technology that I had done research on. Top management was rude and does not want to welcome new ideas or complaints.

I did not receive a formal termination letter.

    Advice to Management

Respect all employees and listen to their ideas and concerns.

I have been working at James Avery full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

James Avery has a fantastic culture with great people. They offer fantastic benefits. The CEO will often increase matches or bonuses just to ensure employees feel taken care of.

    Cons

People tend to stay for a long time so development opportunities are sometimes limited (although company has started to grow a bit more recently).

Possible con - main campus is in Kerrville TX which is beautiful but is a small and has limited amenities. Also, there is a smaller corporate office in Austin TX (which is Pro).

I worked at James Avery full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Beautiful Jewelry, exceptionally made. Fun working environment if you love jewelry. Low stress and extremely rewarding, as you're often selling emotionally charged pieces. Great benefits, best I've ever had. Hands on training and room for growth.

    Cons

Not the best job advertising, outside of Texas. Need better ad campaigns or marketing researchers. Salaries could stand to be a bit higher based on sales volume.

    Advice to Management

Build new stores in places where the highest traffic is. The stores that have closed have been in the wrong location, again need a better marketing team.
