I worked at James G. Davis Construction full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Excellent company that does great work. They really care about what they're doing and won't cut corners just for the bottom line, and it shows, the clients are always pleased with the results.

    Cons

None that are unique to this company, the usual construction cons still apply (long hours, etc.)

I worked at James G. Davis Construction full-time

    Pros

The personnel at DAVIS Construction is second to none in the local market. Could not have asked for a better experience learning and developing as a professional in the first few years out of school.

    Cons

None that don’t benefit professional growth.

    Pros

Excellent healthcare & benefits, quick promotions, ESOP profit sharing, 16 PTO days in the first 5 years, 21 days a year after that, easy transfer ability throughout the company if you're interested in another department, community and family values

    Cons

Some promotions due to time given to the company and not actual talent or need, company could use more streamlining throughout project teams to avoid learning curve on each new job assigned

    Pros

Latest technology, diversity, high safety standards, cook outs, happy hours, variety of jobs, free coffee, Lots of experienced go workers, some willing to help.

    Cons

Long hours, lots of egos, low pay. The only way you can get anywhere within Davis is to be there a long time. Your prior experience means nothing.

    Advice to Management

Support your staff more. Have some encouragement instead of constantly belittling. Be more aware of your team members skill sets and promote accordingly.

I have been working at James G. Davis Construction full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great support system to help employees succeed. A company that will reward you for doing the right thing, not just the most profitable thing.

    Cons

Different operations groups act as independent companies, missing opportunities to share insights and avoid repeating others leg work or knowledge building. All white office space can be hard on the eyes

    Advice to Management

No major complaints. It’s rare to find a company to be proud of in this day and age and Davis is one.

I have been working at James G. Davis Construction full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Amazing company culture! They know how to treat employees and try very hard to keep everyone happy. Moral is high and people seems to love it here. The training/education department is impressive. They're is so much available to employees - required and optional learning - online and in-office. Can't say enough good things about the people and the company itself. You can even bring your dog to work.

    Cons

Pay is not top notch, but they make up for it with amazing benefits (100% paid medical) and many other perks.
