it's not for everyone
Jan 24, 2015 - Support Specialist in Eau Claire, WIRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
This is a great company, it does have a very relaxed environment. There are a ton of fringe benefits and they are very accommodating to your needs personal and work. The upper management feel like they're your equivalent and not a superior. Working at JAMF I feel like a valued employee. They seen my strengths and worked with me to improve them. The pay is good, and benefits are amazing. If you're having a bad day, or frustrated getting up and going for a walk or playing a round of foosball is completely acceptable, so you can re-coop and put forth your best efforts. The community is amazing, and have a very strong following of passionate customers who love what they do.
Cons
Not a con, but definitely not a job for every one. You need to have a passion for technology, you need blind to your own limitations and continue to push yourself each day. You will become frustrated, and exhausted at time, but with the passion that you have for what you do, overcoming these difficulties are incredibly rewarding. Every day spent there makes me that much better than the previous day. Many occasions I have left the office mentally fatigued from the effort it took to power through it. The kool-aid can be a bit much as a new employee, you might not enjoy it right away but once you realize what it took to make it to where JAMF is at, you do appreciate it that much more.

Add experience to your resume, great product
Cons
I was forced out of my job like many others, and it was pretty inhumane ‘Game of a thrones’ style. If you are not apart of the club or more competent than others around you, watch out. This place is not run properly by upper management and has attributes of organizational failure, hence why it was sold to Vista.

Pretty Great but can always improve
Feb 8, 2021 - Sales Development Representative (SDR) in Minneapolis, MNRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Upper management is pretty good, benefit of the doubt, nice electronics, work from home options, nice culture, inclusion and diversity, donations, good training material.
Cons
I suspect pay is not as fairly distributed as a liberal company should be. As much as we hope and feel Jamf should do the right thing in the end sometimes it is a business and just the money matters. Sometimes mid-level management can drop (extra work) a bomb on the lower ranked folks without warning but that's rare to be fair. Internal process and growing pains can really bog things down when you're trying to get work done.

We strive for improvement in all aspects of our business, including regular reviews of our benefits and compensation packages in order to remain competitive in the industry. Overall, we’ve been able to maintain stability in our culture and values during the growth we have experienced, but are aware this can lead to some growing pains. We continue to review employee feedback, both informally and from our Employee Engagement Surveys, so we can continue to make progress and ensure our people succeed.

Account Executive

-The product is very much a niche and is evolving as Apple in the enterprise is. -Great benefits
Cons
-The new CEO is very talented, but since the co-founders are no longer a big party of the company, the culture is making a dramatic change for the worse -Too much middle management has been hired with no clear description of what their job is other than to babysit and micro manage. -It is my belief, along with many others, that the company is in the process of being acquired. Dean Hager has a history of this and they are hiring executives to 'tighten things up.' -The company is not very culturally diverse, unless you reside in one of the international offices. -Employees are not treated equally. If you are one of the 'originals' and are liked by upper management, rules and/or policies will be changed to accommodate them.

Great, but problematic place to work.
Jun 7, 2018 - Software Engineer in Minneapolis, MNRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Great work environment - flexible schedule as long as your accountable. Reasonable work load given time frames. Above average salary for Minneapolis, average salary for downtown. If you love Apple anything, you will find your people here. Most people are very friendly and will typically go above and beyond to help, even with things outside of their responsibility.
Cons
Career development isn't defined. I found that very few people had a straightforward engagement about what it takes to get to the next step, reviewer included. Discussed this with HR, and nothing came of it. Middle management was disengaged unless there was a problem, then they often broke the processes they helped set up. Upper management is being disingenuous since Vista buy out. It's clear that there have been significant shifts in budget and overall company direction, and when confronted on these things, has repeatedly denied such things. Engineering mainstays have hampered productivity and creativity in solving current problems. Be prepared to fight cargo cultism and fear of change. Employee policies incentivize bad behavior, in my opinion. Jamf used to be an honest place - at least I had thought so. After the founders have left and the buyout occurred, it seems like the priorities of honesty have gone by the wayside.
