I have been working at Janssen (More than a year)

    Pros

Super smart people who really care about each other
    Interesting work, push for innovation

    Cons

Slow career progression. There are succession planning discussions but seems faster to leave company and come back.

    Advice to Management

More stretch assignments. Talent is sometimes underutilized. Management does a great job of creating a good place to work for work/life balance.

    Pros

    -Very flexible work environment/hours
    -Everyone is friendly
-Strong commitment to integrity through the credo
    -Supportive and encouraging management
    -Terrific atmosphere

    Cons

-There are many offices divided by disease states so scheduling in person meetings can be a challenge because colleagues in your functional area may be in another state. This is more than made up for by excellent conferencing software.

    Advice to Management

-Keep doing what you are doing because it is honestly one of the best workplaces I have ever seen.

    Pros

They're extremely committed to teach you skills of the business and want to help you build your resume. The hours are relatively flexible and you manage your time. Everyone has a positive attitude and want to see you succeed.

    Cons

They have the money to hire agencies for most of their projects so the role is more managerial rather then hands on. That being said it's a unique experience to work with so many hire-powered agencies.

    Pros

Janssen focuses a great deal of effort on large molecule work. It is an exciting place to be.

    Cons

The company keeps a lot of contract workers. It is difficult to see so many excellent scientists shuffled around.

I have been working at Janssen full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Janssen is part of the Johnson & Johnson family of companies. J&J is a fabulous company to work for. They truly care about their employees and value their work and contributions. Compensation is much higher than my previous job at another Pharma company. They offer up to 17 weeks of paid time off for maternity leave. Health/retirement benefits are competitive with other big Pharma companies. As a company they embrace helping employees succeed in their careers and helping them move into positions/promotions that meet their career goals.

    Cons

I personally haven't found anything I don't like about the company yet. I have been there almost a year. I think for the most part, if you are a good worker, it will pay off to you, and if you are not, you won't have the same opportunities.
