    Pros

Get to meet top executives of large companies. Good people. Great location.

    Cons

The organization is so small and your boss always comes from Japan every 3-5 year that there is most likely no promotion chance.

    Advice to Management

    Improve the promotion system.

I have been working at Japan External Trade Organization full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Salary raises every year to compensate for inflation and good health insurance benefits. Easy to request for time-off.

Get to meet high government officials and executives of large corporations.

    Cons

Extremely high turn-over rate. Forget about promotions- managements are all sent from Japan. Frequent leadership changes.

Most people do not stay at the company too long.

    Advice to Management

Consider promotions for your branches outside of Japan & see why your turn-over rates are so high.

    Cons

There is no advancement and pretty low salary.

    Advice to Management

Allow national staff to move up the ladder and offer more competitive salary.

    Pros

You can learn the basic Japanese business culture, especially how governmental organisation works. You can see how different their mindset from Western people.

    Cons

You may feel shocked how slow their business speed is. This is the same in any governmental organisation. Many of those governmental officials don't know how business works.

    Advice to Management

For young professionals who start their career and plan to do a business with Japanese companies, it would be a great environment to learn how Japanese business culture is.
