I worked at Jarden full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Focused on creating a training academy for CPG (ie, P&G) so great opportunities for entry level sales and marketing - great brands, good training - without the need for an MBA

    Cons

None, really good opportunities for new hires

    Advice to Management

Keep filling the pipeline with new talent and giving them the tools to succed

I worked at Jarden full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Great brands, co-workers, and flexibility

    Cons

Lean organization (=stress), some mid- managers lacked broad experience beyond the company and lacked vision

    Advice to Management

Spend time to train and on-board new hires.

    I worked at Jarden full-time

    Pros

Forward thinking, taking safety to high tech advancements. Fast paced and creative. Illinois based company with engineering and marketing in same building located in Aurora, I
    Illinois.

    Cons

Need to be able to change hats sometimes on a weekly basis. Priorities do change consistently as technology changes but that is the state of business in general today. Marketing and engineering do not typically see eye to eye but are respectful. Show your worth asap or you will be replaced.

    Advice to Management

Easy to lose some perspective of your product when the bottom line is the number one priority. When you manufacture life safety products the bottom line and the quality of your products have to have equal importance.

    Professional work environment overall
    Good people overall

    Cons

Leadership could be a little stronger
Not enough autonomy to do your job - some micro managing
Not enough support staff to manage workload in some positions

    Advice to Management

Need more consistency in Management style with each Department. Provide enough support staff to Sales team, so they can focus on selling product and fostering relationships.

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

Not a single pro comes to mind

    Cons

Worked like a dog to fill pockets of a few top executives. Buy up the little guys and chew up and spit out their employees. Prime example of corporate greed.

I worked at Jarden full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

If you volunteer, you can take on new roles and responsibilities so learning won't be an issue.
    Employee rating systems are fair.
Top management does good job of communicating optimism and wins.

    Cons

There is no training, so it is sink or swim.
Way too many systems and manual processes.
Targets are unachievable, so bonuses are unachievable.

    Advice to Management

Base Bonus on growth from prior years.
Adjust salaries if employees are taking on additional responsibilities from turnover.
    Continue to promote work-life balance.
