Pros
Lots of great change and development movement at Jardines as the organisation Supported to work remotely
Cons
A large organisation that sometimes is complicated
- Current Employee, more than 8 years★★★★★
Pros
Traditional values of Jardines which values group relationships much valued. Very capable CEO who is interested in innovation.
Cons
Some aspects of the business is still old school. Senior executives are based at Jardine House and others at Taikoo Place, which gives a "them and us" feel, particularly as many senior execs live in beautiful Jardines houses. Some of the new appointments (e.g. the CFO) are not a great fit to the Jardines culture (not collegiate or interested in promoting diversity). Keep a look out for one senior executive who is rather too interested in the pretty ladies.

Jardine Executive Trainee Scheme (JETS) only for those ready for challenges
RecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
1. Global mobility - international exposure, allowed to go anywhere in the world as long as Jardines own a business there, visa will be taken care of, not so much hassle but you need to make sure you can be value-added to the business there 2. Community/sense of belonging - lots of social events within the same year batch or even former and later batches so there's a sense of having a JETS community 3. Opportunity to take responsibility from early on in your career - all you need to do is to voice our your interest and be committed to it, everyone is quite happy to teach you how to do things and take some of their busy time to go through everything with you 4. Quite welcoming working environment 5. Good pay during your 3-year programme!
Cons
1. Challenge, challenge, challenge + expectations from everyone - you're a trainee, so you need to cut some slack off and start doing things right and learn things as fast as possible. Being a trainee especially a JET, you are already selected among many other applicants so people expect you to be an independent fast-learner. We got all the help we need but that does not mean they will spoil us. If you're not committed then it may not be a suitable career path for you

Pros
Jardine Executive Trainee Scheme is truly helping young people to develop as future leaders. it also provides a lot of opportunities to work in different countries. It's really fascinating.
Cons
you need to share your accommodation with another JET which is rather inconvenient.

Pros
There's always alot going on at Hong Kong airport.. Very active working environment, meet lots of different people.. The work itself isn't too difficult.. And there's a lot to learn.. If you don't want to see your family or have any free time whatsoever, this is the perfect job for you! It's a good stepping stone to transferring into other positions related to the services sector or anything airport related.. Since Jardine is well known for its ruthlessness..
Cons
Shift hours are tough, there's effectively no day off, extremely beauraucratic.. Senior staff are very moody, new employees do not feel at home at all.. If you want to see your family (or anyone that doesn't work at the airport) during your employment do not work here at all costs...

Pros
Glad to be part of Jardines, enjoyed my years there.
Cons
Too good and nothing to say on downside though.

Pros
Assigned to Gammon Construction which operates under Jardine. Great experience. Pretty relaxed but it's still a good overview and great insight into the overall functions of a corporation. I was mentored by one of the JETs, and basically did first-year JETs work under supervision.
Cons
Like all internships, there are days of pure boredom.
