I have been working at Jasper Contractors full-time

    Pros

This company is willing to reward those that work hard, are honest, and strive to make Jasper bigger and better. They provide great benefits, and opportunity for career growth, and advancement.

    Cons

No business is flawless, but even with the large growth they maintain a culture of striving to be better, and continue to look for fresh, new solutions. You will not find this level of initiative at most companies.

I worked at Jasper Contractors (Less than a year)

    Pros

    There is a (mediocre) base.

    Cons

Hours, working environment, realistic compensation. The compensation plan resembles multi-level marketing and is structured to guarantee that very few people ever earn commission.

    Advice to Management

    Try honesty

    Pros

    None at all. Terrible company.

    Cons

This is a company that only scams others out of their insurance money. They get you to make the customers sign a legal sheet that signs over the insurance benefits to Jasper. Then they do very little with that and profit off the rest. They hire large groups every two weeks and by a week have fired all but one or two. The CEO is complete scum and is a terrible person to meet. Stay far away.

    Advice to Management

    Shut this company down

I worked at Jasper Contractors full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Paid weekly, company vehicle & gas card lots of money can be made

    Cons

No training at all, definitely sink or swim. Supervisor doesn't like you, you are pretty much gone in 2-3 weeks

    Advice to Management

Training and ramp up period. This is a door to door job and if people don't have that experience it takes 30 -45 days to build a solid pipeline

I worked at Jasper Contractors full-time

    Pros

    Literally no pros at all.

    Cons

The owner could careless about his employees. They require you to dress up when no customers are in office and the office is gross. Management simply does not exist. People will work here for 3 months and then be out the door because it is that miserable. You will get a raise after 3 months of $1.10/hour.

    Advice to Management

    Get new management

I worked at Jasper Contractors full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

A lot of money to be made with Jasper.
Make it past 60 days and you will do well.
    Company truck + fuel card.
Health benefits which I never used because I never had time to use them.
Constantly on the move (makes the day go by fast).
Team atmosphere. Everyone has the same goal. Sign contracts and get money.
Jasper does not feel like a roofing company. You’re out there to sell and manage your accounts. If you like sales, you’ll like jasper.
I did not leave with a bad taste in my mouth... I liked it, but it just wasn’t the best fit for me.

    Cons

You’re going to work A LOT of hours.
You’re going to knock on A LOT of doors.
People will treat you poorly so be prepared for the door to slam in your face and be prepared for rejection.
The job is not for everybody and you’ll know within the first month if you’re going to stick around.
If you don’t hit 7 contracts for the week you will be working Saturday.
The pressure of keeping up with metrics and signing contracts on a consistent basis is pretty hectic.

    Advice to Management

I don’t think having the same metrics in every market is fair. I think some markets are different and not saying it CANT be done the same in Lakeland as Orlando, but I think there needs to be a happy medium. Maybe 5 contracts in Lakeland per week? Just a suggestion.

Also I think working Saturdays is a crime. When you work 14 hour days 5 days a week and then a half day on Saturday you get worn down pretty quickly. Having the weekend off to power down, reorganize, and refresh will only help motivate rather than work employees into the ground.

I also think training account managers to give estimates (and inspections) wouldn’t be the worst idea in the world. Some homeowners aren’t always looking to shave a couple of bucks here and there off their insurance estimate. Some have their minds set in stone that they will gather a few estimates based on company reviews and how they felt dealing with the company at the time of inspection. I’ve left multiple HO’s at the kitchen table on that aspect alone (not because I cannot close) but because HO’s are weary and certain practices are a little fishy. One day AOB’s will be a thing of the past and I think integrating some estimates in will help with adapting to changes when they arise.

ALSO... push YELP reviews not GOOGLE. You’ve got enough google and yelp looks atrocious.
