I worked at Jawbone full-time for more than 3 years

        Pros

People are still getting paychecks. Investors are still investing. And Glassdoor has a record of what people said before about the company and current exec team.

        Cons

Management can't decide on their product direction. Bluetooth headsets? No. Jamboxes? No. Heath bands? No. Health apps? Sure. Next year >> who knows? Adding the word "Health" to a company name doesn't take away the glassdoor reviews from before especially when the same team is driving decisions.

        Advice to Management

Quit. If your exec team hasn't made a profit since it started Jawbone in 1999 and keeps rebranding (Aliph >> Jawbone >> Jawbone Health) maybe they aren't meant to be execs. They're only as good as the company they barely keep.

Thanks for taking the time to review your experiences. Jawbone Health has only been a company for 5 months, so it looks like you are reviewing the former company that you worked with for 3 years. We are very proud of the work we are doing to help people live healthier lives and better ...

          Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Jawbone full-time for more than 3 years

          Pros

Team was full of good talent, innovative, energetic

          Cons

management didn't have the skills to coordinate well or deal with the downs of ups and downs well

          Advice to Management

focus on the nuts and bolts of operations, if these don't work, it doesn't matter how well designed the product is

            I worked at Jawbone full-time

            Pros

Exciting industry, good software/app, solid brand, flexible work, successful building new categories and markets, close collaboration between groups/peers

            Cons

Unable to succeed in markets Jawbone created due to many friction points - Inability to execute, scale, launch on time, manage COGS, do what you say you will do, keep retailers happy, develop good strategy and stay on plan.

            Advice to Management

Does it matter anymore? Congrats on building the company to be a significant player, and one with tremendous promise. Would have been fun to see what could have been.

I worked at Jawbone full-time for more than 3 years

            Pros

This company has grit beyond any expectation. It has created market changing products, and in my experience has always produced a compelling vision of making a difference in the world.

            Cons

At least previously, it has had the vices of a small startup, often beyond the time when it needs to move past them. The point in time where it needs to leave behind the execution strategies of a startup and become in a sense 'boring' is hard for any company, but particularly for this one.

            Advice to Management

Recheck your actions against your vision regularly. Treat the company the same way you treat the product. It is the most important product.

I have been working at Jawbone full-time for more than 5 years

            Pros

Ground floor growth - like a start up. But wait there's more! Industry connections worldwide. Unbeatable medical leadership....this is waaaaay more than fashion or fad. If you can handle ambiguity, uncertainty, and excitement - Jawbone's got it! If you need security, predictability, an easy ride, a secure future - keep looking. No whimps!!!!

            Cons

unpredictable. Leadership very ego-based and inexperienced.

            Advice to Management

Get over your differences and shake hands. People may admire you individually - but do they admire you as a team? Not yet. Get help. Great individuals, and as a team you suck. Get over it. Get on with it.
