    Pros

Really great team work and flexible hours.

    Cons

Overtime not paid. Often 70-80 hours of work per week considered mandatory.

    Advice to Management

If offer salary for 45 hours per week, ask only 45 hours per week of work. Otherwise, increase salary or pay overtime.

I have been working at Jean Coutu part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

My coworkers are absolutely amazing plus you can't stay any later than 30 minutes after closing hours or earlier than 30 minutes before store hours.

    Cons

The organization does not care for its employees. They will cut costs and hours of its employees before cutting net income. They also prioritize lab technicians more than the cashiers who actually run the whole pharmacy. Managers are not evaluated by the employees, leading to bad managers staying in the position way longer than they should.

    Advice to Management

Don't be afraid to stand up to the pharmacists when you see something is wrong. You know much better than they do on how to run a business. In the same way, listen to your employees. They have very valuable input. Don't ignore them.

I worked at Jean Coutu full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Love the job, the team, the tasks. Nice hours when you have a family (only 1 night per week)

    Cons

Weak salary. Almost minimum wage for a lot of responsabilities. My friend have the same job with same experience for 4$ more per hour at Pharmaprix. Takes a long time to have good vacation.

    Pros

Managers doesn't give you much supervision so you can do whatever you want. The staff are generally young and happy.

    Cons

There's no much to be proud of while working there. You don't learn anything good.

I worked at Jean Coutu part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Jean Coutu is a great place to work part time for students who are attending school. Some supervisors are easier to work with than others, but you are always well treated as an employee. Your short 15 minutes breaks are paid. I had a great time working there and would recommend it.

    Cons

Some tasks require lifting heavy boxes and products. Other store clerks who are working with you may not be serious in their work and/or lack immaturity. Occasionally, you may come across strange clients.
