    Pros

Firm has grown in recent years, but most of the upward mobility opportunities seem to be gone.

    Cons

Jefferies thinks its a bulge bracket bank and a lot of the bankers actually think they have a chance at deals against Goldman, Morgan Stanley, and JP. It's hilarious.

I worked at Jefferies as an intern

    Pros

No government restriction so aren't affected by economic crises in the same way as other banks are. People are quite intelligent.

    Cons

Very guy oriented and so was kind of hard to work there as a girl

    Pros

Great people, you get exposed to a lot of different areas of technology, things move faster than a large company - less red tape. If you are good and can deal with the culture you can grow fast and high here.

    Cons

There are little to no consequences to poor performance. People are there and have been there for a long time that drag the organization down. When people screw up big they just get moved elsewhere.

    Pros

Depending on your group, your manager may let you work from home but it is not a supported policy unless in emergency situations.

    Cons

If you are not a banker or not in a department that is valued by senior management you will get very little resources allocated to you and will get shafted when it comes time for bonuses.

    Advice to Management

Treat everyone as a valuable employee.

    Cons

There is little to no respect given for corporate services positions in terms of compensation. Corporate services also maintains a poor and inexperienced senior management team throughout.
