I have been working at Jellyfish

    Pros

The environment here fosters advancement as an individual and as a team. Very transparent and the CEO regularly addresses concerns/inquiries of the staff. The goal of having employees be self-accountable and in charge of their personal development really ensures that the cream rises to the top. Good vacation benefits, and loyalty bonus program. Little siloing between departments and everyone is open to collaborations and very open to provide support and insight. Health insurance for individual is very reasonable.

    Cons

The work from home policy could be a bit looser, however the CEO provides a good case for why it’s important to be present to work in teams. The sick leave is a bit lower than from other companies, and less bank holidays are recognized than most. Vesting after 2 years in 401k is a bit long to wait. When including spouse or family to health insurance, premiums are not covered as generously as they are for the individual plan.

Thank you for your feedback. While you were satisfied with benefits and compensation, its unfortunate to hear that you did not feel the same about the operation of the business. We're always looking for ways to improve our processes and procedures, and we will certainly share this feedback with the team. We would have appreciated the opportunity to address your concerns and work together in finding a solution, but respect your decision to leave the company.

I worked at Jellyfish full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Surrounded by talent - Exposed to cool clients - Stocked fridge and snacks - Plenty of learning opportunities - Yearly bonus & raises - Company events

    Cons

    - If management doesn't trust you, it will be hard to get trust back - High school atmosphere in regards to "cliques" - Some departments receive plenty of promotion opportunities, while others don't - Rumors do spread and can be harmful to the company culture - Big agency (this could be a pro as well. But the bigger an agency gets the more corporate it becomes - Some department managers can play favorites

I worked at Jellyfish full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Great benefits, PTO, the people are great, the leadership cares about you, lots of snacks and drinks, fun non-toxic environment - honestly it was tough to leave! Loved working at Jellyfish

    Cons

Everything is focused on selling more hours to the client, which makes sense as it's an agency. This kind of mindset can affect quality of work, however

    Pros

Good pay and benefits, decent perks, great culture. Leadership are on a roll and making great decisions.

Management is mixed but there is a solid effort to improve process and structure. The pace feels break neck at times, and it can be difficult to rely on others when everyone is trying to keep their heads above water.

I have been working at Jellyfish full-time

    Pros

Fast growing company. Everyone is bright and wants you to succeed. Great benefits as well.

    Cons

Open concept can be a con, some can easily get distracted. One of the first things I noticed when I first took a tour of the Baltimore office during the interview process is the lack of diversity. In my opinion, Baltimore and the DMV area is a melting pot of different cultures and backgrounds and I’m 100% sure there is talent out there that Jellyfish is looking for. Diversity also shouldn’t be a topic to bribe employees over free pizza with, if it’s truly important to a company, we should be seeing it with all the new hires as the company continues to grow.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a thoughtful review. We see the same opportunity you do in committing to Diversity & Inclusion and would love to continue the conversation with you either privately or at our round-table forum this month, where we will be catering pizza simply because people are volunteering their dinnertime to attend. Please feel free to reach out to me directly. Thanks again for your feedback and all that you do here at Jellyfish. I hope to hear from you soon. -Molly Wilson, Talent Acquisition & Engagement Specialist

I have been working at Jellyfish full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    - location - parking - extremely likeable and trustworthy executive team, despite being in the UK - known name in the marketing/digital industry and extremely well respected - opportunity for growth and movement within the company

    Cons

    - departments can be silohed and divided

    Jellyfish Response

Thank you for your feedback! The location is one of my favorite pro's as well - even better when we move to Harbor Point next year. Less division of departments is something we are working on as we grow!
