      Really good company

      Pros

Overall good team dynamic and vibe. You're really around some smart people and people that have a passion for growth.

      Cons

The letter grade area is something that's not attractive of proving your worth to gain a pay raise or a promotion on top of focusing on day-to-day workload as well.

      RUN! FAST!

      Pros

The people were great at the lower levels of the organization and the unique relationship with GOOGLE was interesting.

      Cons

Quite possibly the definition of no leadership and zero empathy. The work quality has deteriorated substantially and most of the really GREAT employees are gone. Those that are left around are over paid and enjoying a fairly easy cruise in the park. The reputation of the brand in the marketplace is brutal and has only gotten worse and the upside here for growth is beyond capped.

      Not a place to grow

Oct 11, 2021 - Programmatic Manager in Baltimore, MD

      Business Outlook

      Pros

There are pockets of great individuals who are smart, fun, and support one another. This is tough to find though as the best talent continues to find opportunities outside ofJellyfish.

      Cons

Not a place for long term career progression. Major lack of leadership. Easy place to just be a number and cog in the wheel. Those who work hard and those who barely do any work are compensated the same and you can float around for a long time. Doesn't feel like there is true mentorship or leaders who care about your career growth. Feels like everyone is just trying to keep their head above water.

      Spooky and disassociated job roles

      Pros

Let me tell you the story, I hired for Jellyfish Baltimore location in July, 2014, they wanted me to move from Boston to Baltimore in 3 weeks time. I did the mistake as per the suggestions, I moved to Baltimore and started off for the new role. very small office with over 60+ employees. Open office and too spooky culture. Well I started off for a role requires to work on Ad -accounts like Online education portal for Laureate education. Like any other education company, jobs are very disasociated and can be overwhemled for unnecessary actions. My bad I moved to this company from far away with no reloction and only 2 weeks office stay. I never had to work on Campaigns development or creation. Only thing, I did was daily reporting to make and write stupid stories. They love to hear daily stories from the campaigns and nudge about it to higher managements and clients. I think there is no need of those story on daily basis. Keep your job responsibilites clear to new aspirants. Right in the middle of downtown. Occasion free foods.

      Cons

Paid parking and no lots near offices. too much bully and hustling nature of job based on online Marketing industry. Limited clients and over exposed roles. unwanted meetings and monotonous work and unfriendly people and always a chaos among the employees. Must login early as 8:00 am and scheduled to leave at 6pm. Not much activities around the office, most the meetings. everyone is brought to meetings without any plans. Always on top of head with no plans in line of action. Very disassociated work roles.

Solid resume builder but don’t hesitate to leave for something better

Jun 29, 2021 - Annonymus Employee in Baltimore, MD

      Pros

well-known organization and clients the work is never boring opportunities to relocate, network, develop skills good stepping stone to other display media/search/account management/high-paying jobs great location fast track to becoming an expert in your field

      Cons

lack of transparency, mentorship and leadership. treated like an hourly employee. scolded for being less than 10 minutes late even if you’re doing a ton of work and working late when understaffed. unnecessary gossip, bullying and competitiveness. favoritism in all directions lack of diversity and inclusion. the promo videos are not the reality. poor retention of talented and valuable employees. teams are unbalanced and mismanaged. some people are extremely overworked depending on the client or supervisor. referrals are a blocker to more thorough candidate searches. unclear path to grow leading to confusion and unhappiness. office politics and cliques. friendships are used to get ahead and get special treatment. deliverables can be chaos. too many cooks in the kitchen. presentations changed last minute and during client meetings.

Amazing place for learning and professional growth!

Jan 17, 2021 - Analytics and Optimization Executive in Baltimore, MD
      Recommend

      Business Outlook

      Pros

      - The office (amazing location with state of the art technology, abundance of work environments and awesome layout) - People (diverse group of energetic and genuinely nice and compassionate people) - Upper Level Management (You frequently see the CEO, CFO, etc in meetings and in weekly/montly bulletins. When in office - CEO makes stops to all the offices around the world and introduces himself to all employees) - Benefits (incredibly comprehensive benefits package + work from home & PTO) - Learning (working with intelligent people with different skillsets provides a learning work environment) - Respect (being able to talk to anyone, whether its the new starter or the VP of a department, everyone will make time to meet with you personally and discuss any issues or hear any ideas you have about clients or the company) - Snacks (amazing variety to keep every pallet happy)

      Cons

      - Depending on your role on your team, work can get monotonous at times but new work is always coming in. - Work can seem to be reactive at times (client problem arises, we fix it) - being able to think ahead and solve problems that haven't happened yet is crucial and helps keep the projects moving smoothly -

Mixed feelings about this rapidly growing company

Dec 20, 2020 - Anonymous Employee in Baltimore, MD
      Recommend
      CEO Approval
      Business Outlook

      Pros

      - Great people and open door policy (literally, all offices are open concept but everyone is very friendly and willing to help regardless) - Fancy offices - they love offices here - Pay is decent (negotiate it) - Impressive client book - Benefits are okay - Opportunities to showcase your skills are there, but will not be presented to you...you must find them yourself (more on the new initiative below) - C Suite is mostly approachable (albeit very out of touch)

      Cons

Bottom line is if you are looking for a company where you get to choose your own destiny and figure out how to work the system to get where you want to go with no structure and career path, Jellyfish is for you. There is no matrix organization to deal with, and everything you do is up to you. Just make sure you address this new system in your interview. Talk to someone who works here already, and ask them about their experience (in your location!!).
