I have been working at Jenne Distributors full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

I've spent over a decade at this company starting at an entry level position to managing the majority of our sales team. Work ethic, drive, and teamwork are the ingredients to succeed with Jenne. Jenne is not just a company , it is a community of great people that work together towards a common goal. I love this company and I will always fight for the people who support it. I don't like the negative comments but...

    Advice to Management

Our culture is our legacy. Whether 60 employees or 1,000+, our culture is what defines us with our customers. Let's cultivate that as much as possible.

I worked at Jenne Distributors full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

All these negative reviews are very truthful. The 5star positive reviews are coming from their HR department trying to prop up their rating. Be diligent, do your research and really consider what these negative reviews are voicing. Some good people but doesn’t even come close to out weigh all the negativity this company brings to your life and dead end career.

    Cons

Everything about this place is gross

    Advice to Management

Jenne has been in business since 1986 and a large percentage of our employees have been with the company over 10 years, these employees remain at Jenne to be a part of something special. We’ve spent time listening to our valued team members, and have made exciting changes:  ...

    I worked at Jenne Distributors

    Pros

If you value personal time there’s a fair amount here. Most folks work simple 8-hour days, five days a week. And most managers will let you arrive late, leave early and take days off as needed. (Mentioned in other reviews, too.) If you want to work in sales, this is a low-pressure environment. Management pays more attention to number of calls/visits and total talk time than sales methodology and results. If you’re new...

    Cons

If you’re a sales pro, do you think a place with a lot of personal time and a low-pressure environment pays well? It doesn’t. But, let’s say you negotiate good comp: You’d better understand the bonus structure before accepting your offer. It’s heavily penalizing if you fall even a hair short of quota. On top of that, I’ve seen some pretty unrealistic goals handed down. (Mentioned in other reviews, too.) This isn’t a recipe...

    Advice to Management

To improve profitability, focus on adding value to your customers so you can justify selling at higher prices, or improve operational efficiencies. DO NOT do it by making it harder for people to make money. I’m talking about the even steeper financial penalties imposed on sales reps this year who fall just short of quota. Be better than that. But if you won’t, at least be transparent about such changes. When reps find...

I have been working at Jenne Distributors full-time for more than a year

    Pros

There is a wealth of talent at Jenne, but no one really cares about your knowledge unless you have an office.

    Cons

The micromanaging is out of control. It has gotten to the point where management will check your LinkedIN profile, multiple times a week to see if you are promoting the company and vendors, or if you are connecting with recruiters. There is a lot of gossiping among the management. The "human resource" department tends to be the nucleus of the gossip. There is a lot of bias as many of the tenured employees are just friends...

    Pros

Over all I liked working here and you will find that for the most part there is a warm atmosphere with all of your peers. The amount you learn is incredible but most of it will be through experience and not training.

    Cons

The pay isn’t bad if you do the absolute minimum however you are almost punished for doing a good job. The comp structure is a decent base with a wacky bonus structure. Instead of paying you on your revenue you are comped on hitting goals. Your goal can be three times higher than a counter part but your bonus is the same. Your bonus is also capped which doesn’t make you want to do more. When they offer you a promotion...

    Advice to Management

My advice would be to set up a tad bit smaller base with a commission structure that gives you a percentage of your revenue. This will filter out people who are there to collect a check and make the talented/hard working individuals want to work to hold margin and sell more. Don’t give gift cards if you are going to take the taxes from the employees check. Put that money in their check instead.

I worked at Jenne Distributors full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I made some life long friends.

    Cons

Jenne is a very toxic work environment. Members of management walk around the building with their heads down and do not even acknowledge the staff. Managers "manage" their friends and do not hold them to the same standards of the other team members, allowing them to be late, attempt to sneak out early even though it is very noticed by their fellow co-workers, take two hour lunches, and disrespect other members of the...

I worked at Jenne Distributors full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I liked some of the people that I worked with.

    Cons

In the office, there were so many instances of sexual harassment. HR tends to look the other way or justifies bad behavior so they don’t have to take care of the problems at hand. The managers are closed off and unwilling to reward hard work. I have had to ask repeatedly for months for them to pay me my bonus because they did not give it to me.

    Advice to Management

This company will go under if you don’t treat your employees with respect and reward hard work.

I worked at Jenne Distributors full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Hours are great for a sales organization if you can call it that. It's a great place if you want to put in minimal effort and not voice any opinions that differ from management/ownership. It's great place for those that you'd call pikers in the sales world. Coming from someone who did get promoted and saw several others get promoted it's never worth the pay increase for the increased responsibilities.

    Cons

Jenne is a very cheap organization in every aspect from booking the cheapest possible flights(almost always with multiple connection), a non-livable per diem while traveling,(attempt to eat in Manhattan for under $50 for a day), bonus structures that are extremely aggressive with very low pay outs, and over all poor moral. A member of ownership has screamed at me and cussed me out then said I did nothing wrong but is...

    Advice to Management

There's no hope for any of the management other than Vince Piccolomini as they're still betting their entire future on physical PBX's while aligning themselves to dying companies such as Avaya.

    Pros

Location. Prime real estate in Avon. Easy to get to. Room for expansion. The people were great, warehouse management was good. Flexible with short notice time off request. Relaxed enviroment. Great short term option. Vince Piccolomini is a rockstar! I have nothing but great things to say about him. Great IT team.

    Cons

All the things you would expect from a small, family run business. Politics, favorites, family and friends reaping all the benefits, etc. Employees treated poorly. Warehouse workers are second class citizens. The upper management is not good. Company is run by family, none of which have college degrees. If you take Vince out this company probably fails. No room for growth. Very minimal raises (1% increase at one point)...

The potential to be a big time company is there if you take care of your people and give them a positive work enviroment. Also, adapt and make changes. No more ‘dont rock the boat’ lectures.
